Concerning the comment about the down riggers, I have a 2002 225 weekender that was set up for 4 down riggers by the previous owner. I can't give you an opinion on how they worked, but I can tell you that the four bases, 2 mounted on the gunwales and 2 mounted on the main swim deck (not the...
It looks like the horizontal bunks are in the same area as mine, but I don't have the boards that look to be vertical in your picture. Anybody else have a trailer setup to show for the 215/225's? Thanks!
I have a new to me 225 weekender and I'd like to see how other people have their trailer bunks set up. My old boat was a 1979 Searay 200cc and it used keel rollers and four bunks. The weekender only has two bunks and no keel rollers. As it sits now, I only have about an inch of forgiveness...
I just put on a 15.5 x 17 pitch 3 ear aluminum. The old was a 19 pitch and close to the same diameter. It's made a big difference when taking off and maintaining speed through turns. Have you had your cuddy out much? We've made it out 14 or 15 times but I think we're about done for the year...
I finally bought a different prop and it made a HUGE difference. I went from a big ear style 19 pitch to a new style 17 pitch. Both are thee blade aluminum about 15.5" diameter. It feels like a whole different boat when taking off. It comes on plane in about half the time as the old prop and...
I think they work better on smaller (lighter) boats than larger boats. I have one on my 20' cuddy and it helps it plane sooner and it keeps it at plane at a lower speed. It took away 2-3 mph at the top end, but the improvement in getting on plane was worth the speed loss. I'll keep it on...
What are the odds of seeing another Cuddy Cruiser on a lake in the middle of Nebraska? Nothing cooler than seeing what your old classic looks like on the move. It was a 1982 210 Cuddy Cruiser in great condition. I put a plug in for the classics section of clubsearay! Seeing an older Sea Ray out...
Looks like a nice find. I have the nearly the same boat (1979 200cc) and it is also missing the exhaust bellows. It has an exhaust tube that lines up with the lower unit when lowered, but no rubber bellows.
I'm jealous that you get to use your boat this time of year....we're still a couple...
I wasn't able to pull it from the pump but I did pull it from the thermostat housing. I left the block plugs out and poured antifreeze through the water pump until I had a solid stream of pink out the block. I put the block plugs back in and finished filling through the hose until it was full...
Anybody out there winterize their own Mercruiser 898? I found 7 drains total.....one on each side of the block, one on each of the exhaust manifolds, one on each exhaust elbow, and one on the power steering cooler. Did I miss any? I nearly missed the exhaust elbows. They are really tucked...
Dang that's purty!! Looks like a great weekend. It's nice to see a boat with that many hours still looking good.
I threw some pic's up in the Pictures & Videos section, under the Summer 2010.
Oldskool-
I have basically the same set up that you have along the back in my 200 cuddy. The only difference is the two side seat cushions are level with the padded motor cover. This creates a long bench across the back. Have you thought about adding brackets to move your side seats up when...
