Located in Savannah. Excellent oil samples. See in Yachtworld for 1996 with price of $89,500. Can do a private deal, maybe. Have turned down an offer of 77K. Trade boat must be within 500 miles. Also want cherry wood. Call 912-777-5034 9 to 9ET
Done cruising so just need smaller.
We have a spare shaft alongside the Starboard engine. It looks factory mounted. If I need a new one, any reason I shouldn't use it? Would help with deductible.
Good question. I wonder also. I will ask.
As to costs, I learned the surveyor wittled the price down to 23.5. Price does include bottom paint redo. Insurance approved payment but not sure what that means.
In answer to above, a survey was done and some repairs will be TBD until struts, rudders, shafts and props are pulled. The captain is a yacht club friend and also additional insured so cant sue yourself, in effect. Boat was being returned home from the Chesapeake after we had been north.
Our 1996 was run aground hard by a delivery captain. Per the surveyor report to insurer, all running gear essentially needs to be replaced except the shafts TBD. He also figures on pulling the vDrives back to ascertain if coupling plate damage etc. The yard has about a $27K estimate not...
I bought the very ebay splitter posted below. I can check out the resistance easily to tell if there is an issue. And yes your total amp draw has to be monitored. I took the smoked plexi doors off my power panel so I can always see it. Unless we have a 50 amp service, we only run one A/C, the...
For when I only have a single 30 amp choice on the dock, can I jump the two on the boat? I know I can buy a kind of reverse splitter for $175 which does that, but it seem it would be cheaper and simpler to combine on the boat with a 30 amp two pole switch. 1996 44 EB
After no replies, I just took it off and prised off the back, which turns out to be a vinyl covered piece of ply with plastic screws which push into the plywood frame of the gate itself. So all was rotted after 17 years. Why it is plywood exposed to the outdoors seems a reasonable question. I...
I need to open up the gate to through bolt the hinges because all the wood or sheet metal screws are not holding. There is a seam and a gasket so I assume this can be done easily? I am sure there are previous threads but my browsing is awful: never returns any hits. Thanks in advance.
Ahh, mystery is getting solved. I used an IR thermometer and the starboard engine is 165-170 at idle after a 15 minute 1000 rpm run whereas the guage read 195. Port engine is 180 and the guage reads 160. Now to try at higher rpm but first will check trans cooler Thanks.

I do have underwater exhausts and a side outlet for water. There is some question as to what year I have. The serial# is SERP2909H596 but the engines are 95?. And some parts don't show in the Sea Ray dealers catalog until 97. In Any case, the issue is puzzling.
I had poor water flow and overheating starboard engine. Cat tech replaced both impellers and they were bad, esecially stbd. Now I am paying lots of atention to cooling flow. In neutral at dle, lots of flow.In forward or reverse at low rpm, hardly any. I saw one post abut bypass but it was...
Y'all may have seen my post a few weeks ago about my concerns over the sea trial and rpm. Anyway, things progressed. We bought it and moved it from Little River, SC to here in Savannah. Took 17 hours tach time so 15 knot average and about 200 gallons for the 245 miles. Is that about right? When...
A new sea trial was done with a photo tach. WOT the port was 2600 and stbd was 2678 with speeds upwind 21.2 and downwind 24.7. (It was very windy yesterday although some of that was current).
