    Westerbeke 7.6 Injector pump leaking

I was super worried about damaging the tubes when I removed the injectors, but they do have some give to them so you can bend them slightly without damage. I agree with Orlando on keeping it all clean, I brought my shop vac with me when I reinstalled the injectors so I could vacuum out any...

    410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

I'm not a 400/410 owner (I've got a 370EC) but I went this route a few seasons ago. Replaced the swim platform and added an H3O. I've also got about 500 pounds of dinghy on mine, so I added the support struts as well, 4 of them, and the thing is rock solid. I sprung for the powered version of...

    Westerbeke 7.6 Injector pump leaking

Haven't done it myself, but it does look like you can remove the Delivery valve holder and check that top O Ring. Looks like the only likely candidate to be leaking as you describe it. When I was doing my injector work over the past few weeks, I was looking things over and tried to put a...

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

It appears to be normal at high loads. The only time it bogged down was when I had AC, water heater, microwave and stovetop on at the same time, to run the test. I've admittedly never done all 4, but have had 3 of them on at the same time, on generator power, with no problems. I didn't look at...

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

Religiously! I have multiple batches made up and kept onboard for anytime I do a fill up. Fuel never goes in the tank without the cocktail going in as well. However, I have not used the boat (or generator) much over the past year due to my wife's breast cancer treatments, so the fuel that is in...

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

Thanks Frank. I did just have the injectors rebuilt and tested prior to this run, I think it was you earlier in the thread that suggested it so that was the next step in the progression. I've also replaced the exhaust elbow as someone else suggested, so I think we're probably onto compression...

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

It was only under really heavy load (AC, Microwave and Water Heater all on - pulling about 20A on one leg and 10 on the other) that I saw the stream of darkness coming out the exhaust. When I shut down the Microwave and Water Heater (left the AC going), the water cleared up and that's when I...

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

Well, progress, I think. I finally decided to tear into the injectors and get them removed, it turned out to be easier than I expected. I took them to a local injector shop (Seattle Injectors, for those local I would recommend them) and had them rebuilt and tested. From what I could tell (based...

Pop-up ads are out of control

Mine's running on a Pi3, and hardwired to my router. I have it set as the DHCP as well so I can control what connects to my network through it. It was a pretty simple install and setup, so worth it.

Pop-up ads are out of control

Love my PiHole even more now after seeing that mess. I get no ads on any device on the home network. When I go out and don't have it, it is pretty jarring to get ads again.

Official 370 Express Cruiser Thread (1997-2000)

I did the same as West when I was looking for a route from helm to power panel. That was before I found you could take that oval light down and see a lot of space up there, though I didn't see any other cables going through it. I do still need to find the old Clarion remote cable so I can...

    Exterior Caulk

For the type of caulk to use, I recommend Sikaflex. I've had good success with that, it holds up to the elements really well. +1 to using plastic scrapers, I would also have some denatured alcohol handy, it does a great job of cleaning up residue that you can't 100% scrape off, as well as preps...

Looking to buy used 340 Express 2001 - 2005 ish dual engines

Correct, I think it was around 2000 that they renamed the ECs to Amberjacks (and I think stopped making the 370s then too). I had a friend that owned a 2001 340AJ, I loved that boat and it got me to looking at the 370EC which I have now. His had the gas engines, it was a very solid performer.

    Sheen/Sooting from my 7.6BTD - troubleshooting advice?

I replaced that earlier, it wasn't too bad, but it definitely didn't help with the sooting/sheen. Frank indicated earlier that injector cleaning is a routine maintenance item, and I've not done that yet, so I was thinking that if they are fouled, it could contribute to what I'm seeing. It's...
