Looking for part number for fuel water separator for a 1988 mercury bluewater inboard 5.7Litre (350). Anything special, should be a 10 micron or 25 micron??
thanks in advance
Have anyone ever heard of rudder extensions. Have a sea ray 305 sedan bridge with 350 mercs. I use the boat for salmon fisihing on Lake Ontario and normally troll on one engine. Problem with trolling at low speeds and on one engine, it is tough to get the boat to respond, also tough for the...
here's anothe question I have about previous owner's modificaion on my electrical system.
Previous owner installed a West Marine battery combiner to install a third bank (2 nsix volt batteries in serrires). I had alternator/regulator problems. Had alternators rebuilt, voltage regulators...
Hope someone can help and question not too complicated.
Boat has had a complicated modified charging circuit added and alternators were upgrade, I believe 100 amp with a three stage voltage regulator by the previous owners. Problem was that the voltage regulator failed, had one alternator had...
Have a aqualine 3 step 10-115 regulator, starting to cause me some grief with the alternators,, find that they are not charging, had one rebuilt, suspect that regulator may be at fault. Alternators are heavy duty 120amp, would there be a problem if I had regualtors put directly on the...
curious what the instrument cluster should be for a 1988 sea ray sedan bridge 305. My charging system has been modified by previous owner, and only has one volt meter which isn't even on the dash, off to the side. Was curious if the boat originally had one from factory.
My dash cluster...
I never understood why I had one volt meter either. The whole charging system was modified by a previous owner. The volt meter that is installed, looks like an aftermarket gauge, not the same as other sea ray gauges and I can't see where there was a factory gauge on the instrument cluster...
was wondering how difficult is it to install a volt meter?? Have only one volt meter and is tied to the stbd engine.
Would like to have one for the port engine, would it be easy enough for simple person.
thanks
Thanks for the reply.
The whole charging system has been modified by previouos owner. I only have one voltmeter. When port engine is running, it shows nothing, when stbd engine is running it indicates a charging voltage around 14 volts.
I use the boat for salmon fishing, noticed that when...
Trying to figure why my port engine won't charge my batteries. The charging system has been altered by previous owners. I did find one bad solenoid on the west marine battery combiner and I replaced that. Before I struggle to take the alternator out, was wondering if the alternator spike...
How do you guys find working on your engines. I'm at the point now, where I hire a mechanic to do all the task. I'm 6ft and find it tough to get in all the tight places
thanks again
thanks for the reply. it's been that since I got it 7 years ago, and the previous owner had it with the same list. Had a purchased survey when I bought it, hull and core was good. Compared it with a survey the previous owner had a year before I bought, hull and core was good in his...
thanks. that is a great tip regarding the hex nut on the cooler. will attempt to get it off, found a place that can get me one, but there are so many different types in the book that it would be easier to take the old one in and compare it to the book.
