Thanks for the information. I think I will try a couple of the Sears batteries. I must have missed checking the bow thruster batteries for water. The port and starboard engine batteries are fine.
I checked the water level on the bow thruster batteries (Group 31 Douglas Aquatroll) and they were completly dry. I put in almost a gallon of distilled water in each. When I reached our destination and used the bow thruster a little, I hooked up power. Soon I smelled battery gas and went down...
I recently replaced the Sea Ray Navigator with dual E120s. I bought a new bezel with the cutout for the E120 from Sea Ray. It made for a neat installation. I had to replace the radar, gps, depth sounder and through hull sensor and install the secondary E120. Also, I had the mouse on removed...
The marina called today and asked if we would splash today instead of tomorrow. Jumped at the chance and enjoyed being back in the water. The launch went well and we are in our slip ready to finish getting the boat ship shape. Almost done with the navigation upgrade. It's a "Wonderful Life"...
We get the boat out of storage on Monday and will have it put on the hard for a week. We are having the exterior detailed and the new navigation system has a little more work to be done. Also, there is some fiberglass/gel coat work that needs to be done on the instrument panel area. There was...
Thanks for the great info on the upgrade. My system was installed in Dec '07 and we haven't quite got it ready for trial. I think the system is two versions behind. Do I have to upgrade to 3.31 then 4.29 or can I just install 4.29?
One sure thing to remember is a spare genny impeller (I am a convert now). You would hate to loose power and have to take a cold shower!
We are planning to go with you and experience camping with a little luxury. I want to find that bar that is up the road about a mile.
I guess we could...
I believe the hardware is Nav II and the software version is 3.5. The manual on Maptech's site for 3.5 is the right one if the software on this system has been upgraded to 3.5.
I recently changed out the SeaRay Navigator and installed dual E120s. The radar is completely different so yes you need to change it out. I ordered a new instrument panel from SeaRay that is cut for the E120 and it looks OEM. I also swapped out the sounder and GPS. I am not sure if you have...
Did SeaRay move the bulkhead toward the stern to take advantage of the smaller area required by the Zeus drives? Did they put pockets on the hull?
I like the joystick placement but don't care for the single engine controller on the right of the wheel. I guess you have to dock left handed...
I got an email from Raymarine today announcing their G series. It look awesome but the price is about double the E series. The digital radar looked especially cool. Also, the picture in picture feature would be neat.
Anyway, I am content for now with the E series.
Admin, I guess I misunderstood the redundancy of the radar. Am I right to think that I can have radar on both screens at the same time or one or the other?
The transducer for the DSM300 is the 600 Watt Bronze through hull transducer with depth speed and temperature. Includes high speed fairing(B744V).
The reason for the change is for several reasons. I wanted full redundancy. If you install dual Navigators you can only use one for radar. We...
I thought I would share my experiences of upgrading the navigation system that is about to begin. The boat today has the Sea Ray Navigator II multi-function display with 4kw radar open array (Sci-Tek/Koden for Maptech). I am upgrading the whole system to Raymarine dual E120 series, 4kw...
I replaced a galley light the other day with a Halogen G4 I bought at Home Depot. When I got back home I looked at the parts list and it says I should have used a Xenon lamp. I looked up the difference and read that the Xenon are a little brighter and less heat but higher cost.
Does anyone...
