We took Blackberry Down out for a shakedown cruise this past weekend - both for the boat and for our new 6 month old daughter! Our daughter did much better than the boat though... A mile or so up the river - I hit a piece of wood that looked like a slat from a pallet... Nothing too terribly...
I've got an '06 340. Its bone dry when its not raining - but can get a good bit of water in there when it rains. I had an '05 280 - same scenario. Not sure where the rain comes from - but I vacuum it out when I get down to the boat and keep the bilge clean. Every other boat at my marina...
Its white - clearly just steam. Just wondered if it was normal. I had an I/O boat before - so it didn't have the tell tales like the V-drive boats do... I have no reason for concern from an operational standpoint - just an observation I was curious about. I guess I wonder if everyone else's...
Same here. Very little steam at idle - decent amount under power. The way the exhaust is routed - it seems impossible to me to have it not create steam somewhere in the system?
2006 340 w/ 8.1's. Boat has ~250 hours on it - was all freshwater until this year. Both engines have 12-13psi of water pressure at cruise - engines run 170 or under as well. Steams a good bit from both sides. No alarms - exhaust doesn't appear to be getting too hot? I had an I/O boat prior...
Al - that's a very good question! I didn't really look at that when I was down this weekend - boat's over an hour away from where I live. Is there some setting in the C80 that I should make sure is a particular way to get them to communicate? Or is there something in the VesselView to look for?
I have this on my '06 340. It used to get the speed from the GPS - but for some reason now its looking for the paddle wheel. I did do a software update on my C80 so it would read the new micro cards. GPS is reading speed correctly - just not certain how to get the Vessel View to look for...
We have 2 refrigerators - one in the cabin, and one up top under the sink. The one up top is awesome - brand is Norcold. It keeps drinks ice cold even on setting 4 out of 5. The one down under is cool - but not cold. The freezer can make ice and gets that little layer of frost on it - so its...
If I'm not mistaken - I thought I saw you post on a thread that you had a trans leak? Of course - I can't find that thread again! If so - what was the result? Thanks!
I am positive its not the dipstick... Something underneath. Need to do a little more investigating. Only when you're running it - which unfortunately leads me to believe its one of the shaft seals... Not good.
Ok - looks like I do have a transmission leak. Not good. Level appears to be ok - but as the boat is used - oil drips into the bilge. Bilge is spotless - I'm a freak about that! Bone dry - no water - but transmission fluid is not good! From what I can tell from searching here - trans and/or...
