Mine has been amazing! This shot was taken by a buddy of mine from his drone at our 4th of July raft-up. Next bash is August 9th at Tice's Shoal for anyone in the NJ area!
After hours of excruciating sticker peeling in the hot sun, I was able to successfully remove all of the bow graphics from my boat this weekend. Even with a heat gun and tons of Goo Gone, this job was a pain in the ass! I guess that's what happens when decals are baked into a gelcoat after 14...
Thanks for the helpful tips! I'm just worried about the marina decal located by the fuel tank.. I don't know how I feel about pointing a heat gun in that area, even if it's only for a few seconds lol
Agreed. This is literally something I've wanted to do since I took ownership of the boat, but just never got around to pulling the trigger. I hope it goes as smooth as I'm anticipating it to be.
I'm going to take a stab at removing the graphics this upcoming weekend and see how it goes. I'll start with the smaller ones on the bow so I can get to them with a buffer easily and if it goes well, I'll devise a plan to tackle the stern.
A little idea I came up with over the holiday weekend. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I do!

Cheers!
How was the removal process? Did you do it with the boat in the water or on dry land? Also, I see that your 185 is almost as old as my 240, was there any "ghosting" left behind from the graphics after they were removed? If so, did they buff out with some compound and an orbital?
No worries, I'll have my registration numbers on there, I just wanted a super-clean look to get the best idea. Oh, and I rarely take her out at night, so the tint shouldn't be an issue with visibility.
I've had my 2001 Sundeck for just over 6 years now and I think it's time to change up the scenery. I've been toying around with the idea of removing all the (sun-faded) graphics, tinting the windows, and changing the canvas (and bimini) from blue to black.

I love how sleek...
Just thought I'd keep you all updated, everything worked out with the boat and MarineMax said they would fix anything and everything that was wrong (or raised a red flag) with the boat at no charge. I'm picking her up next Friday and couldn't be happier! Thanks again to everyone that helped me...
