383 Mag stroker won't turn off

The last alternator only had ~160 hours on it. With motor running it was only making 11.8-12.1 volts. I figured it was just a crap alternator from the factory. I've never had one die so quickly. I'll check voltage at the ignition switch (key) and at pin 86 on the relay. It does sound like the...

383 Mag stroker won't turn off

This is the relay in question. also to note, I pulled this relay and the motor would still fire up, run and turn off. Voltage on the Smartcraft gauge was fluctuating between 11.8v-14.2v so I only ran it for a couple seconds.

383 Mag stroker won't turn off

This issue just happened again . Turned key off and gauges and motor stayed on. Went back to the motor and tapped on the relay a couple times and “click”, everything turned off. I replaced the alternator almost two months ago. It’s putting out 13.8-14.1 volts while running. This is more than I...

383 Mag stroker won't turn off

** Update Some how the computer relay failed. A $40 replacement from SeaRay and all is well again. I'm not sure what caused this problem and that is still bugging me but everything is running and turning off just as it should.

I've changed all the OEM cabin lights to LED and tapped in to that circuit ad the additional lights. Fairly simple to do. It has made a huge difference though.

383 Mag stroker won't turn off

We have '07 240 Sun Deck that we re-powered two years ago with new 383 Mag Stroker installed by the dealer. The motor now has 170 hours and has run flawless up until yesterday when I turned the key "off" and the motor kept running. The radio turned off like normal but the Smart craft gauges...

    Bimini top

We had a 185 without a tower or bimini and used Great lakes for a full OEM bimini setup(canvas, poles, ect.) It was great. https://greatlakesboattop.com/ With our new boat, a 240SD, we replaced just the canvas and used https://americanboatcanvas.com/

We have West Marine's 13lbs Danforth style on our '07 240SD. I had to cut an inch or so off both sides to get the width small enough to fit in the front anchor locker. It's fits nicely in the factory spot now.

I’m not 100% sure what you’re trying will work but I can tell you I had to change out that 90a fuse on our old 5.0L. It was a huge pain but doable. I had a bruise on my chest for a couple days from laying on the manifold.

That’s a little weird but not an impossibility. If your “pretty full” fuel tank is holding on to heat and staying warmer than the outside air you’d get condensation. To me, that is interesting but not to the point I’d be concerned. You could drain/empty your fuel tank and see if it still...

2006 Sport 185 - Leaving it in fresh water for the summer?

We had a 185 and kept it in fresh water on a covered dock for 5 years, no problems. Now we have a 240SD and keep it at our same dock. -Drain plug. Don’t worry too much about it. Check your bilge to make sure water isn’t creeping in but it really shouldn’t. We have a drain plug light in ours now...

    Heater Craft install on 6.2L

I’m installing a Heater Craft heater on a Mercruiser 6.2L(actually a 383 Mag stroker). Just want to make sure I have the right plugs. Supply looks pretty easy, right on top of the intake manifold. The return looks like a plug on the port side of the circulating pump with allen head. Thanks.
