My 85 300WE with 5.7's and shaft's & props, 60-80 gal. 3 sob's running 300-3200 rpm's 12 gph each . Roughly 5 tons of boat. Was told a rule of thumb HP x 10% = gph @ full throttle

5.7 ltr transmission oil cooler is under and below left exhaust manifold.

I'm have searched and can't seem to find it but thought i had read that some have installed 17x17 props on their 300's with 5.7 motors. Have a possible deal on a pair of fresh documented props but was worried about the 17 being a little too big. Thanks

Anyone done the conversion from the belt driven raw water pump to either the Volvo or the Johnson crank driven pumps? Searched a bit but didn't see anything. Seems like it would be the fix, no longer climbing over and under the motor especially for the starboard side pump.
