My hose goes into a cooler that is located below the oil pan or so I am told. With the twin engines and only a 10' beam, it is awfully tight and I can't get down there to trace the lines. Does the ram have one end being an eyelit? Behind my port engine, there is a piece that ends with an...
Yes, I did check the fluid level at the pump on the engine. If you mean on the ram itself, I don't know where to look at the ram to see if there is fluid there.
Can anyone describe what the steering ram should look like? I have been told that since my power steering has quit functioning, I'll need to have either the pump or the ram replaced. I can find and do know what the power steering pump looks like but have not idea what the "ram" looks like; can...
I recently had to replace all of the hoses on both Alpha 1 outdrives for tilt & trim. If you hydralic tank for t/t is full, and you know that the outdrive is in the up position, it probably is electrical. I have an 88' 270 Sundancer and I have fuses right under the dashboard, under the steering...
Thank you for that information! I wonder if my props were switched....as I never had a sea trial in the boat. I will keep that rule of thumb at the forefront when I consider new props for the boat.
Could be someone replace the props before I purchased it and since I bought it in December, there was no sea trail. Never had the chance to ask questions about why the WOT was so low. I purchased it from a widow and she knew just about zero about her husband's boat.
I'll have to put on mask & fins to get prop part numbers. For WOT, port will run up to 4300 while starboard won't get past 4000 at the present. I have been told that 300 rpm's won't make that much difference.
I purchased a 270 Sundancer w/twin v-6's. I received no manuals with the boat and it is old (88') er and heavy. I would like to change the props but do not have anything to tell me the ratio of the props I need to use. I have read that some of you have changed to a 4 blade prop and that...
:smt021About a week ago, I lost my power steering on my 270 Sundancer. Goes to Port but not Starboard w/o having to horse the wheel to Starboard. Marina mechanic thinks it is either the pump or the ram??!! The boat is an 88', has had one engine replaced, the other overhauled, both outdrives I...
My 88' 270 Sundancer easily turns to Port but you need 2 hands and some muscle to turn to Starboard..more so when you are speed and on plane. Just happened. I have rack & pinion steering, pump for power steering is on the Starboard engine (twin v-6's), is full of fluid now. Can I be having a...
I own an 88' 270 Sundancer with twin 4.3 V-6's and new Alpha 1 outdrives. Can only tell you that I must have the wrong props as I get not speed and have great difficulty in getting it up on plane. No paperwork with boat regarding the correct props for this boat? Any suggestions? Make...
