i had the same issue on my 2005 280 twin 5.0 bravo 3's i put some dielectric grease on both of my blue smartcraft cables in engine room and behind gauges and every plug i could find in engine room and issue never came back....hope this helps you...

Changing out steering rack and pinion “steering cable” this is the easiest way to tackle this monster!! Take out the side panel in the aft bedroom 4 Phillips head screws pull panel and it will expose all wires and cables running into engine room!!! Took about an hour total with just me...

It was a 30amp fuse inside converter..... I changed the fuse out and boom she’s working like new

I just had the same issue on my 2005 280 bravo III’s and I found a blade from an old impeller from the PO after the raw water pump ... it was inside the little 3 way fitting that the raw water pump hose connects to that also runs up to the power steering cooler
