We've had our 2002 260 since 2005. We have loved it. Got 1200 hrs on it and have never had anything except a water impeller break. (my fault) Been in some bad storms on some big water but never felt Ilike it was going to turn over. If you've found a good deal on a 260, go for it...
I got the "stink" from using untreated well water from a mountain lake marina. I spent all summer trying to figure out the problem. Once I went back to my home Marina that has "city" water, problem dissapered immediately.

My 2006 GMC Yukon Denali pulls my 260 across mountains back and forth from TN to SC on a tandem trailer. No problem. I think proper set up is everything.

My 2001 260 has almost 1400 hrs. I had to replace a distributor mod about 5 yrs ago but that's it!! Enjoy it as many hours as you can. The more you run'em, the better they run.

The carpet in my 260 needs replaced with something. I would rather NOT have more carpet but I don't know what else is practical or available. My wife says some sort of hardwood laminate but I don't know if that's possible. Does anybody have any experience or advice about what is best?
