what is the logic on just abandoning a boat? It seems like you could just sell it extremely cheap and still come out better than just leaving it somewhere.

I dont live on the lake but I am out there about every weekend during the summer. I usually put in at the wildlife access across the road from Tamarac. If you see a blue and white 1987 Seville running around then it is probably me.

I have always used whatever oil that the owners manual recommends (i believe it is SAE 30), but I dont think I have ever used mercruiser oil. This is the additive i am talking about. http://www.zddppluscentral.com/home

Should I be running a zinc additive in the oil on my 1987 4.3L mercruiser? I assume it has a flat tappet camshaft. I know that most cam manufacturers recommend a zinc additive for their non roller cams. What do you guys think?
