New Problem: My depth guage goes from say 187 ft. to 4.6 ft, then the alarm goes off...when I am in deep water. It happens whether I am going fast or slow. Very annoying. I had to have my diver inspect my hull last week, and asked him to check if there is algae or something blocking the...

    260 Sundancer Discontinued

I cleaned my engine water sea strainer yesterday. All went well, buthad a question. I closed the appropriate seacock per the owners manual instructions, but as I opened the coontainer it is in, it still dumped about three quarters of a gallong of water into the bilge. I hate when that happens...

    CO Alarm

I had this problem. My solution was to close my cabin hatch, crack my berth window, and ensure that I run my engine blower at speeds less than 7 mph...solved the problem.

Eddie...sorry for the delay in the response (travels). I just had my engine oil changed. Pressure guages all read ok, but come to think about it, it has been doing that since the mechanic did the work (oil/filter change, plugs and rotors replaced, and impellar changed). I didn't think to...

Dave, When the "Check Paddlewheel" screen comes on during the alarm, I hit the middle button (which I forget it's name) and it takes me back to whetever screen it was previously on...in my case it is usually the depth screen I keep it on. Then I see the alarm blinking in the upper right of the...

Dave, Sorry for the delay...traveling. The alarm goes off and just defaults to the "Check - Paddle" screen. When I hit "check" it just goes back to the previous screen but never says why the alarm went off in the first place. I am suspecting that it is the RPM warning, although it never says...

Re: Smartcraft Alarm Blinking New issue. Ever since I had my impeller replaced and the oil/filter changed by my mechanic, I have noticed my Smartcraft alarm blinks in the upper right side of the indicator when I get the boat up on plane. I have read through the manual, and for the life of me...

    2006 Sundancer 260

You guys got me thinking on this celery stick thing. I am not mechanically inclined, and would screw it up worse if I did it myself. Since I have the boat in a slip, and either don't want to pay to have it hauled out just for this or wait till the end of boating season, is this something I...

    2006 Sundancer 260

Dave's tip about the engine angle trim worked like a charm today. I cranked it up to 4,000 rpm's and left the trim tabs all the way up. As it began to naturally list to the port side, I simply clicked the engine trim up a few seconds and it evened out perfectly. From there, anytime I got a...

Dave, I was at my boat today. Not sure where the panel is you refer to. I saw one in the panel area under the sink, after I opened the door there. If that is not it, I am not sure where it would be on the starboard side. I didn't check the engine room, but didn't think you meant that area. Still...

Dave...thanks for the pics. I'll have to check that. I went to the boat today and took the power hose and ran it down the drain. It seemed to help a little bit. Even though it is a small drain hole, sure seems it should drain faster. As for the water in the bilge issue...my 260 is, and...

Thanks guys....I'll grab the dock hose tomorrow and give it a blast with the nozzle and see what happens. Hoefully it is a bug or something.

    2006 Sundancer 260

I got my 260 this past February. I too had a few surprises in learning how to get an even ride. This is my first boat, so I am learning. First mistake, letting people walk around. I now try to even out the weight and ask that they get comfy before I open it up. That works a lot. I need to get...

What will you spend on fuel in 2008?

With gas creeping up to almost $5 at the marina, the mooring in the harbor about 200 yards from my slip is looking better and better for just hanging out and waving to all the others passing by dropping cash in the water!!! Do I sound bitter?? Nooooo LOL
