Lazy Daze,
No grommets that I can remember. Screwed into the bottom of the pad. The boat is wrapped for the winter otherwise I would have taken a picture.
To remove the back rest. you have to lay down on the deck and look at the bottom of the pad. You will see screws that hold the back rest in place. Remove the screws and tap the bottom of the back rest with your palm and the back rest will then come off. 5-minute job.
According to the tec sheet. I should get 5000-5500 rpm's out of my 350 mpi 5.7 mercruiser and get 40 mph. The best I can get is 4300-4500 on a good day and 32 mph. I just had a new long block put in. same 5.7 and all I get is the same numbers. I think it has a lot to do with the way the drive is...
Thanks Guys. I contacted Raybo and sent him photos of what needs to be repaired. I am waiting for him to contact me. I also spoke with two others, and am waiting for them also. I will contact South Shore this week as well as Gulf.
Thanks Again

My 05 350 Mag Mpi 300 hours on a rebuilt cut out at 3700 rpms like I turned the key off. The motor hiccupped one time but kept on running smooth. And after a while it just shut off and would not restart. Got towed back to the dock and started to check things over.
I managed to get it started by...
This same issue happened to a friend of mine. It was leaking at the blue plug. He tried a stainless plug and it made it worse. Turns out the Water Distribution Housing had a crack. Changed the housing all good now.
