    Stuck Table Post

I had the same issue and I wrapped a dock line around the pole a few times loosely and inserted 2 wooden dowels and twisted in 2 handles till the line was tight on the pole, that allowed me to grab on and pull up while rocking it side to side. I do believe mine table was in there since the boat...

    Winterize a/c

I also use a small compressor and pressurize a plastic tank and with a hose hooked up and pressed into the discharge fitting push the anti freeze through until I see it come out the intake under the hull...of course the boat is out of the water with the sea cock open. This is very easy to do...

    What's that odor?

After this happened I checked and it was at 14.2 volts on both engines at different rpm's. I thought for sure it would have fried something in the alternator. I also got a normal charge reading when hooked up to shorepower also. This incident really made me think about having a unforeseen...

    What's that odor?

It was a maintenance free Deka marine group 24. I could see the water covering all the cells in the spring when I put it in and it was at 12.7 volts. It still has some water left in it after the boiling, but now it reads 7 volts...all my new batteries are the ones you can check the level.

    What's that odor?

We just got back from a 120 mile trip from Harbor beach on Lake Huron. I stopped and got fuel after 65 miles on plane and noticed a strange odor…we thought it was from the Edison plant or a factory in Port Huron. We continued home for another 2 hours on plane and noticed the same odor back at...

    Inverter wiring question

That is correct about the AC pass through on the inverter. It did accept 10 gauge wire on the inverter input and output...which made me think it would allow the 30 amp AC transfer. But it will kick off on anything larger then 15 amps...with the manual switch installed it works fine.

    Inverter wiring question

Just an update on the inverter install. I went ahead and ordered a Xantrex pro 1000 from BOE instead of using the Coleman I had...great price and very fast shipping. I installed the unit with about 5 feet of 0 gauge in a locker below my AC panel. I have it connected to 2 deep cycle group 29's. I...

    Inverter wiring question

    Inverter wiring question

I'm lucky to have a locker within a few feet of my battery bank and the AC panel is on top of that. I'll mount the inverter at the bottom of the locker to keep the DC run short and run the AC line to the transfer switch on top of the panel. So will I be able to run my air and cook on the stove...

    Inverter wiring question

Thank you very much for all the responses, I do have a PMP1000 and after reading all the info you supplied about it I'm going to install it in a locker very close to my main AC box with about a 8 foot run of 0 gauge. The auto transfer switch looks like the way to go. I have this Coleman model...

    Inverter wiring question

I'm going to install a Coleman 1000 watt inverter on a panel close to the galley in the cabin. I just going to run my lcd tv/dvd or small fan...nothing with too much draw. I have 2 house batteries and 4 gauge wire ran to power the inverter. My question is can I safely run the AC output of...

    Motor Problem - HELP

I had a similar problem on my previous srv 190 and there was water in the bottom of the gas tank coming in from a bad oring on the gas cap. I had to remove the tank to get all the water out. You'd be able to see the water settle on the bottom of a glass container.

How do I repair a loose snap that screwed into the hull

I just did about 6 or 7 snaps with epoxy and redrilled them after it set to install the new snaps. I found that blue painters tape to keep the epoxy off the fiberglass worked well and you could also form a trough with the tape if you have any vertical surfaces.

    1989 340EC Water Intrusion

I don't have a 340EC, however on my 1990 280 I had leaks from a front bowrail stanchion into the forward locker and the leak above my galley was from a cockpit cover snap in front of the windshield that wasn't sealed. Not the same boat, but my leaks were in the same places.
