i might be able to help you. i have the entire anchor light off the hardtop on a 480db. we replaced the whole thing with a new tower for radar and sat TV.
do you have a picture of yours and what you need?
My unit is completely functional, with exception being that the display is extremely faint, but visible, and functions properly.
Is this a defect in need of repair, or is there a way to adjust the brightness?
8.1 Gas?
We also own a 330 DA with 7.4 Horizons, and it sucks gas like mad. IMO, boats of this size should be diesel powered, or you will die at the gas pump.
Congrats.
No idea about installing air. We use the old fashioned open window/fans model of camping on the water.
As for camper canvas, we have always had our canvas work done by local craftsmen, that way you get exactly what you want.
Bow pulpits are great to have, only problem on boat of this...
thrubolts that fasted swim platform are below waterline in this model, and warrant close look regarding moisture.
i looked at one in the great lakes before finally settling on a 480bd, and it was so wet that when we took core samples, water ran out for a long time. that said, sea ray corporate...
impellers were not in good shape, but on side of temp issue, only a piece about 1 inch by 1/4 inch was missing.
other thing: this is a fresh water boat, has never left lake michigan in its entire existence.
i have looked at:
thruhull, sea strainer, free flow through intake to sea strainer, with strainer out and seacock opened, changed impeller.
there is belt to check since my water pump is gear driven.
i also checked that there was not a furry creature living in my exhaust, which is unlikely.
i...
correct.
i was on a crossing from muskegon, mi to milwaukee wi, and within a period of 30 seconds, the stbd temp gauge went from 188-192 (normal temp for me), above 230, and the coolant temp and water pressure alarm sounded. i shut down immediately, checked the bilge, nothing obvious, sea...
i recently had starboard overheating problem on my cat 3176's, so i looked at entire system, checked everything, and changed impellers. when all was done, i noticed apparently much less flow from starboard pipe than port pipe. boat runs fine, no temperature issues.
my local cat rep tells me...
interesting....
i have 3176's in a 2000 480db, and i just added exhaust temp pyros and turbo gauges, mounted in bilge, and remotely monitored via raymarine cameras to my helm display.
i would like to stay in loop on this one, if anyone wants to talk bout my experience, pm me as well. bottom...
i am sorry to hear about your daughter.
i live in madison, and work at st. marys hospital as an anesthesiologist. if you need anything while you are here in town, please let me know.
pm me anytime if you want to chat.
silly point, obvious point, but are you sure you have all the breakers on for the ac units on your control panel in the salon? there are 4, one for the water pump (should always be turned on first), top left, then one each for the three ac units. just a thought.
without the top left one, you...
just returned from lengthy cruise, my performance numbers:
1900-1950 RPM (wot is 2320), 22-22.5 kts, depending on wind/water conditions, 20-21GPH per side, Load percentage 70-72.
curiously enough, fuel load did not make noticeable difference to speed, consumption, or load factor.
this was...
when we lived in virginia beach, on the chesapeake bay, this could happen to an unpainted boat bottom in a matter of a weekend if left in the water, given the right temperature, current (nutrient flow).
we had some taken about 3 weeks ago, and ordered them, but they have not arrived. i will post the results as soon as we get them. i figure i robbed one bank to buy the boat, what's another to get a unique picture of her?
