    thruster anode / zinc

Thanks all- mine looks completely wasted away. Not sure when the PO might have (if at all) replaced since 2001.

    thruster anode / zinc

Hi all, I think I've seen some discussion on here about this but wanted to pose a specific question: there appears to have been a zinc on my bow thruster that has eroded. Anyone have a source/part number for this. It's the 24v Vetus bow thruster, 80KGF 24VDC 7.28"ID TUNNEL. Thanks, Cheryl

    460 DA Owners Thread

Thanks folks for the additional information on the transmission. My person here has done a number of these replacements. Only issue is he's very busy, so it might be winter work. Interestingly, I talked with someone else who is currently having this issue with his boat and his mechanic told...

    460 DA Owners Thread

Here's the pic of the port gear unit. It's a little dark but you should be able to identify the "screen" as well as some small black pieces of material that are around and below it. Sorry the pic is so small. Seems my storage space was used up with only two photos stored - clearly I'm not...

    460 DA Owners Thread

Sure-- I should be over at the boat tomorrow (Friday) and able to take and post a pic. Folk can then keep on the lookout should something like this occur. Doesn't sound too common, thankfully. I may not have noticed it but my mechanic was in the engine room and noted it. I sucked the stuff...

    460 DA Owners Thread

Thanks Paul- yeah that looks like what I'm seeing. My engine guy says he will have to separate the engine from gear, he did not mention engine removal. So much fun... Cheryl

    460 DA Owners Thread

460 owners - I've got Cummins C6TA with ZF drive transmissions. My mechanic noticed some black rubbery material coming out of the top of both of them where there's a "screen" with little round holes in it. He indicated that transmission failure could occur, uncertain when that might happen...

Port Hole Windows & Hatch resealing

I am just now finishing this job. All the port holes and also the ER vents. Not a particularly difficult job. I did it with the boat in the water. I did the job after the boat sat for winter in the covered slip, thinking that would give any moisture time to dry out as much as reasonably...

    Whats in your to-do box?

Right now I'm in the middle of re-bedding the ER vents and all the port holes. I've got the PORT side done, and flipped the boat around to do the STBD side. After that I believe I'll be ready to go for the season. Over the winter I did the following: -cleaned the bilges -replaced the Clarion...

    06-08 high gloss cherry delamination

FWIW my 2001 460 had a very small area of delamination in the forward stateroom (about 3"). I ran some silicon glue underneath the area and taped it down until dry with blue tape. I've heard that earlier boats could also have delam and clouding issues. I think I was told that for the...

    canvas seat covers

THANKS Frank! I was actually laying awake thinking about this in the night and I thought the same thing, that due to the dusty residue, the covers would need routine cleaning too. I thought that sheets might work at least as an initial fix, I figured I could tuck them into some places and...

    canvas seat covers

Thanks- well at least I'm not "losing it" (well that may be up for debate). I, too, have a big hairy dog and I've about given up on keeping him, his hair, and the sand and saltwater he drags in, off of the exterior seats. ! Good luck with yours :)

    canvas seat covers

Still trying to work through the canvas setup on the 460 DA I bought last year. She stays in a covered slip year round. For the winter I have no problem putting the large canvas over the entire cockpit. But when spring comes I'd like to remove that cover for the season. The thing is that we...

    Interior Cabinetry Maintenance Product Recommendation

I have the dark "cherry" interior and I just started using murphy's oil soap and hot water. Other things I tried would not take the fingerprints off. I can't stand looking at all those smudges on a bright sunny day on the hook! Cheryl
