That is interesting, the drain, I mean. I suppose you could open that while flushing the motor torun fresh water through it. Just what I need... something else to do! My boat is already too packed in the bilge for it to evenbe feasible to flush the motors regularly. The 310 with two V-8...

What is the drain hole in the front for? It can't be draining sea water constantly... If the housing is still uncoated aluminum, I don't see where any improvement has occurred.

What is the updated part constructed from? Also, does it bolt up to the same bracketry, and use the same hoses?

I was asking if someone had made the entire unit from stainless. I had already said I made the nipples in stainless. There's only one nut to loosen to pull both hoses at the same time with the factory arrangement. You don't need to remove the hoses from the barbs, ever once they are made...

Pretty much every aluminum part on a boat is held together with stainless hardware... so I don't know why that would any greater issue than it is any where else on the boat. There is hardware on the module itself that is stainless from the factory... like the fuel filter cap, etc. These...

I would not replace plastic with plastic. I have made about 50 sets just like the plastic ones, but out of stainless steel. They fit the clamping bracket correctly and interlock with it.

Does anyone make this part aftermarket? It would seem you could hard coat it, or make it from stainless, and it would solve the corrosion problem. Anyone have a dead one they want to donate to research? I might consider making them if people think there is a demand. I know I need at least 2!!!

Thanks guys. The motors are in mint condition. The run normally once underway. So it sounds like the IAC isn't really an enrichening circuit... it's in use any time the engine is idling, cold or hot. Correct? Finally, is there common GM parts I can buy, or do I need to source these...

Although the condition improves slightly from cold to operating temperature, it's still pretty bad. It idles so low and so roughly, that is comes very close to stalling.

The other thread noted the TPS fixed the problem. But it was on a 7.4, and I don't know how similar the fuel injectino and electronics systems are.

The powertrains were built in mid 08, and installed then. The were supposedly exactly what would be delivered for an 09 Ray.

I am interested in the exact same thing... 99 310DA. Mine has been refit with 5.7MAG Horizons, and it will only pull 4100-4200 rpm in pretty high salinity salt water (caribbean).
