The reason this is occurring in the first place is the small at the bottom back side of the gauge tis probably clogged. Gauges are not hermetically sealed. If the holes get clogged you'll have constant fogging issues.

Someone on this website mentioned putting bromine tablets that are used in a spa in the sump and it works like a charm. I drop two tablets in once a month. Never have a problem.
