I had a very similar problem, coil replacement solved the issue for me

I agree, anything north of Bay Bridge would be a safe bet. I have been Boating in the Chesapeake Bay and it's contributaries for over 15 years and have had minimal problems due to water conditions. Hope this helps

I can certainly understand from just the maintenance side....I've pulled my 260 500 miles when I moved from MD to VA and she pulled nice. Safe travels my friend!!!!

I'm with you on that one. I do the same thing with my 260. Takes all the stress out of the end of the day. 3 ropes and done!!!!

78 260 express, 5000lb , 2yr old 350 /325hp, old factory prop, 2 adults, 1 kid, 1/2 tank of gas. 34 MPH on gps @ 3900. Motor still fresh, should go 38-40 with new prop & motor tuned to prop. May get more...could use some input if ya have any thoughts.
