I make ours out of king sheets. Those little elastic sheet holders work really well to keep all the sides in place.

It will be cheaper on the Trent next year. All you pay is the mooring fee. After that it's full out pricey. I will tell you, though, that the ride from Trenton to PBo is boring compared to the rest of The Trent or Lake.
Wilson is so cute. Love that area.
The Captain has changed out the old Searay Navigator to a Simrad. It does come with simple charts.
Has anyone used these factory charts from Simrad? We know we could change to Seatalk or Navionics which we have on the other Raymarine but wondering if anyone has used these ones from Simrad.
We've had a few interesting moments with US agents. I've had them board and flip everything for over an hour. They went through compartments and searched everywhere. They were neat about it and respectful. They have asked for just about every possible documentation we could have as a person...
You must go to an official port of entry when entering on Nexus. If you don't in your area then you have ogents that are lenient.
Here is the official Canadian website.

The easiest way to enter is to get a NEXUS card. you can call into CANPASS with the required info on hand like boat size, registration, and the usual cross border questions. Everyone on board must hold a Nexus to use this though. Then proceed to an official port of entry for customs. They...
Also if you are considering doing the Loop there is a group of us on the America's Great Loop Cruiser's Association. AGLCA.
I would say 95 % of the Loopers on there are doing or have done the loop in different ways.
Registration is minimal and the info is second to none for doing the Loop...
For height it depends on if you wish to use the western Erie Canal instead of Oswego Canal and Lake Ontario. If you are going throught the Trent or Rideau the lowest bridge is in Chicago. You can take the alternate route there and bypass the city and that low bridge.
However if you wish to do...
There is no watch list for what happened so no worries there. Also this does work both ways. US agents can be equally as rude to Cdns as the other way around. But in reality that fella was overstepping and not very Cdn in my opinion. Don't let one moron stop you from seeing the unprecedented...
We are mostly on Lake Erie. We did pass through Wilson on our way back from Boston when we bought the boat.
You absolutely can do the loop in the 38. I agree we like the galley on the main level. Going into the dungeon to cook on those summer nights is a pain. I grill a lot so a good one is...
We are in the Loop right now. We are taking our time and doing it in segments because we are still changed to the desk. Our next time around we will take the Loop much slower. Currently we are in Nashville.
