Hello,
Went to see the leaves change colors with the kids and the boat went into reverse, but not well, then put into foward,..the throttle was stiff and took alot of pressure to move foward. Then put it into idle and it still goes foward at a very slow speed. Any ideas? Bad throttle...
What about running the AC,..close the sea-cock,....filling the strainer with antifreeze and let it run through the unit until it comes out the AC Output?
Thanks for the Air Cond info. The shop-vac method sounds nice. I remember having to push it through backwards last year with the Searay maintenance man. Thx.
As far as the engine, it is a Mercury 5.0L MPI. ANy info would be great. Thx again.
Hello All,
I have enjoyed my first full year with my 240DA. This has truly brought my family closer and made many new friends on the water.
Question: At the end of last year when I purchased my boat, the dealer winterized it for me. I closely watched and learned what he did. My...
My '06 240DA 5.0L MPI B3 at WOT is 4200 (41MPH). That's about the best I can do with bottom paint, full tank of gas/water, and Buffett music.
Might be able to get her up to 42MPH if I throw the Buffett CD's overboard, but that's not going to happen.
Good Luck on your sea-trial...
Well,...let me tell you about my situation this past summer. I purchased a 2006 240DA with 37 hours. This boat was kept "Imaculate" from the previous owner. I had a survey and felt confident that everything was OK.
Upon taking the boat from Lake Wylie to Lake Norman, I noticed a more that...
While cleaning the boat on a BEAUTIFUL 80 degree October day with my new Shurehold Pole/cleaning brush ($100),...OOOPS,..it rolled out of the bucket and into 50 feet of water.
DAMN,...this is the second thing that I have dropped into Lake Norman this year of value.
Who's lost other stuff? No...
Dave,
If you start missing "tinkering" with your boat,....feel free to come to LKN and help me wax! I could use a Pro like yourself to get some pointers.
Congrat's on the "lift-out". Hall Marine (LWM) proved themselves again why they are the best.

Dave,
Lake Wylie is as low as I have EVER seen it. I purchased my boat the beginning of the summer from an individual who had her slipped at Lake Wylie Marina. In June,..I only had a 1ft clearance. This was a scary adventure for me as I was not comfortible with the new boat yet.
I...
Something is wrong here. By looking at the picture of the Sterndrive,....the skeg, prop, anodes, and other parts have wear on them. I'm not saying the boat is not new,..but the outdrive is not.
Since I had to replace the entire sterdrive & transom in a one year old 240da,..I purchased a HydroHoist 8800lb lift. I LOVE IT. No chance of damage and it keeps the boat and ALL metal parts of the lift out of the water.
Hello All,
What should be the highest RPM's reached at W.O.T.? The reason I ask is that I had some service work done on my 240DA w/ 5.0L B3, and it seems the highest RPM's at WOT is 4100 (35mph). Thanks.
