    Anchor Rode Upgrade

Does this happen on the way to planing speed or do you want to run the boat at 12 knots? If you aren’t on plane, that has to be a very inefficient speed and tough on the motors. Do the trim tabs not have much effect? I bought my last rode and chain combo from these guys. I picked it up at the...

    Cicadas

It wasn't summer in Texas without the sound of the Locusts. My Granddad would give me a nickel for every one I shot out of a tree with my BB gun. Kept me out of his hair for hours. My dog loved to eat them and would then proceed to yak them up all over the house.

It will download the update to the card, but you have to give it permission run the update on your plotter. You can tell it not to run the update, but everytime you start the plotter, you will have to tell it not to run the update again. I have never found a reason not to install the updates...

Lifeseal, Sikaflex or.... RUBRAIL TIME !!!

SikaFlex 295UV for the hull to deck joint. I don't think a pressure washer is a good idea on a seam that is supposed to be waterproof. The last time I did my hull to deck joint, I manually scraped off the old sealant, cleaned it up with acetone, taped it and sealed it with SikaFlex 295UV.

    Replacing Windlass and line??

That windlass doesn’t support chain. I would never consider an anchor set up without a healthy length of chain.

    Copper reaction

Spray the running gear with zinc galvanizing spray and then use bottom paint. You’ll be fine.

    Garmin Navionics Sub'd Charts

The hardware updates can be downloaded via Garmin's website and installed manually or you can use the Active Captain app. Active Captain downloads the update to the Active Captain card and then runs the update. The process once the update starts is the same. All hardware on your network will...

    Garmin Navionics Sub'd Charts

I use Garmin express to download the basic chart and put it on one SD card. That way you don't need to transfer the basic chart via Active Captain. I then designate a second SD card as the Active Captain card and all updates, raster charts, satellite imagery, and hi rez shading end up on that...

    Garmin Navionics Sub'd Charts

I said the built in reader will work for compatible plotters, the 7600 is not a compatible plotter and will not work with the Navionics based charts. I still don't see how the subscription based system could be considered a "ripoff" You get the same or more coverage, regular updates, for the...

    Garmin Navionics Sub'd Charts

The subscription based charts are not a "ripoff", unlike the G3 vision cards, with the Navionics based charts, your charts will always be updated. If you cancel the subscription, your keep what you have, and lose future updates. The Navionics charts do not erase your old G3 data unless you...

    Snakes on board!

No Water Moccasins that far north in Maryland. Probably plain old water snakes. They keep the duck and rodent population down.

    Baltimore bridge collapse

In WWII that mess would have been cleared to allow ship traffic in less than a week. The Golden Gate Bridge took 3 1/2 years to build. The Governor of MD needs to follow the lead of the Governor of Florida and tell the EPA and other agencies to stay the hell out of the way while they do what...
