Installed new heat exchanger today. We have a constant 170 degrees and it seems to be running well but still steam from exhaust. Wondering now if it's fuel issue. We went full throttle and could barely reach 3800 rpm.
ReplyWell, I wish it was that. My partner (my son) pulled all the hoses this winter and pulled one small piece from them. Otherwise everything was clear. The saga continues.
I thought that we addressed this. We pulled the engine last winter and replaced the impellor. Although it was worn, it didn't appear to have any pieces missing. But maybe we missed something. We also pulled all the hoses from the heat exchanger and cleaned the screens as best we could. Yesterday...
We have a 1996 300 Sundancer DA with 5.7L V8's. We've been battling high running temps. Runs fine up to 3000 rpm, then climbs past 170 degrees as rpm increases. Also lots of steam from the raw water exhaust.
We've done just about everything we could think of (leak/compression test, test for...
So now it's March and the race is on to get ready for May 1 splashdown. Decide to tackle the cold start problem head-on. Had to do some other stuff underneath so we decided to replace the fuel pump just on general principles. Tore down the carburetor today and it was pretty nasty but no apparent...
I have a fairly new Chromebook and I have installed OPenCPN using Linux. Downloaded some charts and it works fine. I bought a USB GPS receiver and tried to install, but there are no drivers out there for Linux. According to some sources, a driver is not necessary, but I do have to install GPSD...
Still struggling...Post #5 worked twice. Boat has been sitting for 2 weeks. Today it failed. Only savior was starting fluid. Then fired right up. Accelerator pump does not appear to be pumping, but if the gas has drained back, there probably isn't any gas to get! Lots of advice from leaking...
Interesting you should mention that. I believe that hose is called a carburetor vent hose and we found that it was disconnected. Put it back on, but no apparent change.
Hey thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm, but I didn't even have to do the whole procedure. Pumped 5 times, throttle to neutral, turn the key...Bam! started right up! It's gonna sit till Saturday. Crossing my fingers that it wasn't a fluke. Didn't want to pull stuff apart till its out for the...
Just wondering if anyone has experience with Weber WBA carb. Port side engine won't start cold. Need to prime with starting fluid or gas down the throat, then it starts right up and runs fine. Checked the operation of the choke seems to be OK. Checked accelerator pump and it is suspect. Tried...
Thanks for the info. I measured what I have against your #8 picture. Looks identical to mine. So if that's what they send I'm confident. BTW do you sell the extensions and if so what is the pricing.
