I have decided to live with the situation but must say I'm surprised people do not understand how to manuever a boat by steering with the engines. This is the proper way to control a big boat with dual engines at slow speed. You shouldn't need the steering wheel. This is different in wind or...
AON your right people need to get ovet the hang up of putting the boat in and out of gear. I do it all the time and have for 20 years. I was taught to steer the boat at slow speed by engaging one engine or the other.
I guess I'm realizing my best option is to just live with things as they are and realize some people are going to make a wake bigger than I am happy with. I really don't want to be the 'Wake Police'. It also sounds like people are able to justify the wake they make so I'm not going to change...
Thanks Henry that's my thought exactly. If there are heavy winds or current i could buy the argument of 'Can't Go Slow Enough', but in normal conditions that argument just doesn't cut it!
Just moved my boat to a dock next to my house on a channel. This is a 'No Wake' zone but it seems to me the boats going by don't understand the concept of No Wake. To me if the wake rocks my boat and my dock more than a ripple it's too much. Thoughts?
The boat is fixed! i replaced the coolant circulating pump(water pump) and all is well. I wrote an email to the manufacturer of the pump to ask if it was possible the pump was sucking air without leaking and they responded it was absolutely possible. So it appears that was my problem.
Thanks John! I really appreciate the input. My mechanic is coming out next week to do the clear hose thing and replace the pump. I decided to go ahead and replace the pump then do the clear hose test if the pump doesn't fix the problem. I agree it is an educated guess and may be a waste of...
Thanks everyone for time you have taken to think things over and respond. Couple things:
The left manifold that gets hot is brand new as is the hoses going to and from the manifold. We checked all fitting and the path to the manifold since I was also convinced that was the source of the...
John,
Thanks for jumping in! I tested the pressure with one of those guages you attach in place of the radiator cap. The cap is rated for 7 pounds so I pumped just past 7. I left it there for awhile and nothing happened. I started the engine with it on and still nothing happened, pressure...
The boat has never overheated. The amount of fluid that gets pushed into the resevoir and the bubbling is not the normal function of the overflow res. I have posted a video on a previous post if you want to see it. There is also a foaming of the fluid when this happens. When compared to the...
