New bottom job. Props all straightened out. New zinc. All new hardware below the water line...except the butt plug; and now it's leaking! Trying to figure out a way to stop the water without having to pull the boat out again ....
Any of y'all experience this debacle?
Thank you gdavis! I posted that question in reply to a much earlier post by mrfixit...in his photos it looked like he got one hundred percent of the foam out.
gdavis>>> thank you for the info! I'm not aware of much LOL...brand new to big boats.
What is Bora Care? My first puzzle is how, without major surgery, to get it to dry out.... I did not expect to find the foam down there...I drilled two holes in the floor in the hopes of just vacuuming it out...
Pure84 >> is there foam beneath the floor that you can see through the hole? Water logged?
I'm replacing the fw tank on my '87 390 now... The tank was in bad shape and leaking badly for who knows how many years before I bought the boat December 2017....under my floor water water water and more...
Same as ours.... Aluminum. The corrosion is worse on the inside of ours....and the tank is also cracked at both baffle welds. Scrap aluminum for sure... Plastic should last long past our time :)
Lol, our cabin is in the same state right now.... Just got the tank out yesterday on our '87 390 EC.... The original 101 gallon aluminum tank..
We've looked at many suppliers... Mostly roto-formed 3\8" plastic... Most will manufacture any size to your specs...Sullivan plastics does custom welded...
