My '96 Sundeck 240 has a flush port mounted on the side of the boat near the fuel fill port. I can't seem to find much information regarding this port, so I thought I would ask my questions here.
1. Is it ok to run the engine with a hose hooked up to this port and water running?
2. Does the...
It's an Alpha I drive. There is a clamp on the end of the bellows which seems to indicate that it should be attached. However, when the drive is tilted all the way up, it seems that it would be very difficult for the bellow to stretch that far.
Thanks.
Bryan
I just pulled the boat out of the water for the season and noticed after getting it on the trailer that the exhaust bellow is no longer connected to the outdrive. I'm assuming that this probably happened when raising the drive all the way up, but not sure.
Is this something I can fix myself...
I know the lake scum has built up on the hull pretty bad. I'll pull the boat out of the water and give the hull a good cleaning and see if that helps.
By the way, are you at Holiday marina on Allatoona? I'm at Allatoona Landing.
My '96 Sundeck 240 was topping out last season in the 38-40mph range. This year, with the same load, it is topping out at 30mph. The engine seems to be running fine and I've tried adjusting the trim with very little improvement.
Is there anything I need to be looking for that might...
I haven't checked the balancing on the tires. The fact that the grease appears to be breaking down very quickly certainly seems to point to a high temp situation. I'm going to take the wheels off, inspect and repack the bearings with new grease, and back off on the nut a bit. I think that if...
All of the parts are brand new. I've only pulled the trailer about 100 miles so far. Are there special seals that should be used with the EZ lube spindles? I am using the seals that came with the hub/drum kits. When I pump grease in, it eventually comes through the outer bearing indicating...
The trailer has EZ lube axles, so bearing buddies would be useless (I ordered the bearing buddies before I found out that the axles were EZ lube). The dust caps I am using have the rubber insert so that you can get access to the grease fitting without removing the complete cap.
I just replaced the front brakes on my trailer and added brakes to the rear axle. I also switched from surge brakes to electric drum brakes. For some reason, the driver side axles keep throwing the dust caps while going down the road. I have checked the brakes to make sure they are not...
The trailer only has brakes on the front wheels right now, but I figured it would only make towing it with my F150 better by putting brakes on all 4 wheels, right?
I'll try to get some pics of the boat on the trailer in the next few days. As of right now, the short strakes sit on the bunks...
I recently bought a '96 Sundeck 240, and this is the trailer that it came with. The boat goes on the trailer fine, but it just doesn't look right sitting on the bunks. In the pics, the keel roller assembly is removed (I'm replacing the 3 rollers that were dry rotted). My concern is with the...
