The studs unscrew from the unit. You use two nuts tighten together on the stud to remove and replace. Take the stud to automotive parts to get a longer one's. I do not have any pics, sorry I recently sold the boat. I did this project last year.

I did this conversion last year in my 2001 460 sundancer. It was not easy but it is doable. I would recommend getting getting longer studs about a inch. I had to notch one of the frames which I re-glassed to make the motor fit. It worked perfectly.

    Air Conditioning Water Blockage

I clear my lines at least twice a season. I have made up fittings to flush forward and backward using a fresh water hose on my 460 sundancer. I also flush the ac by hooking up fresh water directly to a/c forward and back again. My boat has 3 A/C`s and a common drain. The strainers should be...

Does anyone know where the galvanic isolator is located on a 2001 460. I looked behind the main ac switch panel and can see the about 8 green wires on a ground strip. I have checked the manual and the parts book. It shows in the parts book but I have not been able to put eyes on it. It is the...

For those looking to winterize your engines and a/c I added the Groco SSC-Series flush kit to each strainer. This part is well made, no plastic and simplifies winterizing by hooking up a five gallon bucket and starting each engine with seacock closed until you see pink out the side of the boat...

Regarding the shower sump in the 460 searay. My float was constantly getting stuck overflowing etc. I replaced the entire unit with a whale sump unit with an external whale pump bought from defender marine. The float is electronic built into the lid not mechanical like a rule. It also runs 30...

I just replaced the alternators on my 460 Cummins and they are Delco Remy truck alternators. I used a well known rebuilder in this area. I tested the output from the alternators on the boat it was reading 12.6. The rebuilder bench tested the alternators and there was no output. The engines have...

I was having the same issues with the sump on my 460 searay. The sump, the pump, the float switch are less than adequate for these boats. I replaced the the entire system with Whale Gulper Shower / Sink Sump System Item # : 503549 from defender marine. The pump is out side the sump and the...

Some advice on this sump pump please.

Most of the sump pump systems installed on today’s boats are prone to failure. The float switch if is the mechanical type either gets hang up with sludge, or just plain fails. I know I have replaced three of these in four years. The pump is submersed in water all the time and it gets stuck...

Need help. Westerbeke with blown 30amp fuse

I just recently had this problem with my Westebeke. It turned out that a wire inside the remote control panel was rubbing against the metal housing and had rubbed through the insulation. Taped it with electrical tape and tied it back from the housing. Runs great now.

    Vacuflush needs help!

I just did mine in my boat and had the same problem with a leak model 848. Sealand Service 877-645-2064 helped me. It seems that some of these models had the tab on the base at 12 o'clock position grinded off and the new seal are not thick enough to overcome. I replaced the base and problem...
