I will have a hull and engine survey but before that I have the sea trial and I want to make sure that the basic performance is OK before spending money on the survey. That's why I am asking, as an example, what the RPM should be at WOT (props and bottom are clean).
Next week I am going to sea trial a 2000 Sea Ray 310 with 350 engines and V drives. I really would appreciate some advise from current owners on what to do and what to watch during the sea trial to have a good indication if the boat is performing well or not such as RPM at wot, oil pressure...
Thanks for your comments. Yesterday I had the zincs removed. It could be just a mental thing, but I feel better thinking that, running at 4,000 rpm they could have come off.
I had conflicting opinions on having zincs around the shafts on my Sea Ray 380. The Sea Ray people say that I don't need them because the way the boat has been wired while the mechanic says I should have them.
Please advise.
Thanks
On my Sea Ray 380 with twin 8.1 when running at 3000 RPM the port engine stays between 130 and 140 deg while the stb engine is stable at 160.
Is 140 deg OK or is it too low?
Thanks
I have a Sea Ray 380 with full canvas enclosure.
Every time I go out and it is sunny and warm I take the canvas off to put it back on again after I am back to the dock just in case it rains.
This is becoming a big pain and time consuming especially when I have guests.
I would like to know what...
