I have the Vengeance 14.5 X 17 props on mine. If I have a boat load of people on it with full fuel and water and a dirty bottom I have to use my tabs to plane. With clean bottom, plenty of people, full fuel & water she pops right up.
The admiral and I were negotiating a meandering bayou not long after we had purchased our 280. I had to go below to use the head and as she was taking the helm I told her to pay particular attention to the depth gauge since we were in pretty skinny water. As I was returning I felt us run...
"I replaced mine on my 2006 4.3 mpi's in my 280DA and I got them at the auto part store. They are the same as the one on a 1998 Ford Turus. Imagine that! Take one to Oriley's and they will match it up. Cheaper than Marine Max"
Can anyone else confirm this? It looks to be a good find.
I've had the same problem on mine. After running all day with the genny going and the air temp in the 90's, the 4.3's just won't start. My dealer tech told me that in addition to keeping the blower going and opening the engine hatch I must "prime" the engines. I know that is not the right...
I have the same year boat and identical setup. Use a ratchet extension for your sparkplug socket on the rear plug. My wife says it was easy to do it blindly. However, when she got the spark plug inserted she dropped the socket behind the engine. I used a magnet on a telescoping thing and...

I've done the oil, filter & fuel filter changes, as well as, cleaning the flame arrestors. Unfortunately, I do not have a trailer or the means to get at the drives. I keep it in a slip and the dealer will have to take it out of the water. Thanks for the advice.

I have a 2005 280DA w/200 hours. It has T4.3's & Alpha drives. I cannot find in the owners manual where it says I should replace the impellers, but my dealer says they should be replaced as part of the 200 hour service. I boat in brackish water and the temp guage is always within the normal...
I recently purchased a 2004 260 Sundancer. One of the options it came with was the canvas camper package. Although it is nice to have in the winter, it will be a big hassle removing and reinstalling in the warmer months. I thought it would be nice to have the canvas cockpit cover but when I...
