Take one of the remaining screws out and go to a hardware store to buy four replacements for the ones you will lose during the replacement. There is a post in this or one of the SR forums about the shock - it is no longer available, but the post had suggestions - I didn't keep the thread.
I had...
I had a fabricator create replacements - it was outrageously expensive even in boat dollars at close to $6 each (I ordered 90 of the little buggers!). I like the tamboor doors and I figured if I rebuilt the cabinet, I'd be missing at least 2 fingers and even more boat dollars, so I sucked it up...
Thanks! I found and serviced the AC unit (I thought this is where SR put the vacuum - which my boat doesn't have!!!!). Despite following the manual, I still can't figure out how to navigate to engine hours.
I have not been able to figure out where to find the engine hours on my 480CE's. The boat has Smartcraft, and I've followed the manual on where I should be able to pull up the hours, but I only get to a service log page. Are there analogue meters on the engines?
And while I am asking stupid...
My boat came with Weavers removable chocks - I'm pretty happy with them. I remove them when the dingy is off the platform, and the fixed bracket is relatively unobtrusive.

We had a 5 night trip with friends last week, and they both couldn't sleep in the aft cabin together because the forward section of the folded down "bed" slopes forward quite a bit. Before i grab my crowbar and do something drastic like this, does everyone have this issue? If not, where do I...
Although my 340 was a generation earlier (2002), having the extra weight of 150' of chain in the bow helped the boat get on, and stay on, plane. I felt the trim tabs were undersized on my generation and as noted by others, the extra chain made anchoring that much more comfortable - and sooner or...
My 460 has sliding tambour doors in the galley, and most of the glides on the top and bottom of the doors have broken. I know there have been posts about replacing the tambour doors with new units, and I have tried to find a source to no avail. But for those of you who have the same problem of...
My AC seems to be running a bit slow and the AC water output is a bit weak, so I assume the strainers need a cleaning. I took a bilge dive and didn’t see anything resembling an AC sea cock or strainer (or maybe I just get overwhelmed anytime I’m down there!), so can anyone give me a clue where I...
I’m having a wood top custom made by a friend. We designed the table top to match the original size and mount on the original base, but with folding leafs that double the size. I’ll post pics once we get a little further along. I did get a quote from https://marineteakfurnitureandwoodwork.com/...
We moved up from our 2002 340 with 8.1’s to our 2003 460 last fall. Absolutely no regrets: much better suited to our lifestyle and unbelievably easy to handle with just 2 of us on board! And by golly, given the price of diesel vs. petrol on the water, it is more efficient to run!
