Took my Navionics on an mSD card to the boat today. I inserted it, started up (leaving AC off on purpose) but nothing seemed to be happening; no update alerts like the latest software blurb summary shows. Looked up the issue on line and got a Garmin support article saying AC needed to be used...
Bot-bump update to my post earlier:
I've had the Airmar 120WX installed for almost three years now. Worked fine out of the box. Both the Garmin and Maretron picked the data right up and I have displays set up on both. No options for direct device calibration although I think I could tweak the...
Orlando, I downloaded the Navionics chart to a mSD card last night. Express recognized that it was a fresh card without a subscription and the download took ten minutes or so. The completion message said something like "Subscription download completed." For grins, I updated the first SC card...
Bit the bullet and went with a Navionics+ subscription at sale price (looks like sale may have just ended this week). I updated to latest SW today intending to see how well the charts work from just the card as the update doc asserts. I took the dash apart to get to the installed readers on...
Garmin quarterly software update dropped this week. According to the update announcement, Navionics+ chart incremental updates can now be performed in the background from a chart card. A good thing. But, seems to me that Garmin tech support should have been able to convey that to @Skybolt since...
I think you need to make sure your account is aligned before AC will work. You should be able to see the exact same lists of devices and charts in both Express and AC. It may be worth a call to Garmin support to get them to sort out how your account looks on the back end.
I wanted to have Express ready for the season but was getting a message to the effect "we can't contact the servers right now" error. I tried a couple of different devices and got the same result. Then tried a simple uninstall/new install and got the same. I looked deep into Garmin support...
I found a different compatibility page:https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=ym4WgOpuXw0p6HnSwjgdQ9
It has this note: "NOTE: The Garmin Navionics+ charts will work on compatible chartplotters when using the Garmin USB Card Reader. The ethernet version of the Garmin Card Reader is not compatible...
Orlando, have you tested the Navionics yet? I'm concerned that the 7608 (which we both have) is listed as not compatible although my 8600's are. Wondering how that will play out after installation.
What does the table for Card Readers mean? It looks like it's saying only the newer USB card reader will work and all older "Garmin Card Readers" will not? Or does a wireless connection get around this?
Steve, at my boat today and in the ER de-winterizing. I see there is a Battery Charger switch on the main DC panel. I’ve never touched it but assume it cuts off the charger from the batteries if off since charging power is on the AC panel. Have you checked this switch?
I'd say you need to take some readings in the wiring between the charger and batteries. Good news is that the charger, main DC switchboard and batteries are within a few feet of one another. The owner's manual schematics have some good info on which harnesses and bus bars to look at. While...
