    5.7 repower options

Thanks guys. The engine has 900 hours on it, so if it is out and I'm doing a valve job, I'm prone to go ahead and rebuild the lower end while it is out. Even if I buy a complete turnkey motor, will I need anything to install MPI or will the harness connections to the instruments use the...

    5.7 repower options

Okay, here's the background: I let the original manifolds, elbows and risers go too long and wound up with water ingestion. Killed the flywheel trying to crank it too, so I'll need at least a new one of those as well. I may just rebuild the existing motor, but I was wondering how difficult...

    Tides Inn,on Rappahannock Info?

Certainly not as good as it used to be. Not really the Tides without the Miss Ann. It has pretty much become a "striver" resort. On the plus side, there are lots of local attractions that are new or have gotten better. The wine shop/restaurant in White Stone, Jimmie and Sooks and the ribs...

    Ideas/Suggestions for a CSR Potomac/Rapahannack River gathering?

If you're coming up from the South, Colonial Beach is further up the Potomac than Solomon's is up the bay. Kinsale and Coles Point are easier as stopovers.

    Sarah says

Intersting to see the top headline on the front page of the Wasington Post today, saying that our president-elect wants for congress to "act fast on stimulus". Do you really think that the "intellectual" liberal eggheads at the Post really don't know the difference between an adjective and an...

We haven't asked this question in awhile but.....WHO IS GOING TO BUY A NEW BOAT?

OK, I'll admit it. We are looking for a 280. But first we are definately going to try it without the full time, live aboard crew on the 260. That might really make a difference...

GPS Nav. Signal Unreliable - Chesapeake

Perfect, they basically drew a red circle around 90% of where we go. And the signal will go out mostly late at night or early in the morning, just when a little confirmation from technology helps most. Thanks for the heads up!

    Memorial Day Weekend

We have friends coming along with us to the Calvert Marine Museum for the Saturday evening concert. If things look right we'll play on the water both ways. If not, we'll find plenty to do in Solomons. Tiki Bar is open, right?

    How salty is Chesapeake Bay?

http://www.buoybay.org/site/public/ As you can see, the saltiest part is the lower bay. Our AC works fine all over the bay. We do flush whenever we pull out.

10 Best weekend within a days run from Deltaville, VA

John, You could always hop across the river to the Tides Inn, spend what you save on gas on the slip and dining. Lots to do within bicycle distance, the wine shop in Whitestone serves very nice meals or you can picnic at Christ Church. Or you can anchor in Carters Creek. My favorite in...

    Smith Point entry

Spent the weekend with the admiral and swabs at Solomons, had a great time, but on the return to VA we noticed a disturbing situation entering Smiths Point. There seems to be a pretty good sand bar across the mouth of the Smith Point jetty. I thought the depthsounder had gone on the blink when...

    Visited Prince William Marina

We bought our 260 there and have really enjoyed it. Support after the sale and service have been very good too. I can honestly say that we look forward to any time we need to go back, and the restaurant adds to the experience.

    Who trailers a 260DA?

We have a Boatwheels trailer for our 260 and the main thing I would change is having rollers instead of bunks. A bottom painted boat and bunks don't mix well. The quality of the trailer is great though.

    Is 5.0 enough hp on a '02 260 sundancer?

We have the 5.7 on our '99 and I wouldn't want anything less.

Recommendations for Desiccants to control humidity in the cabin over the winter?

Just one, as that was the suggested use for our boat.
