    Tks for the instruction manual, I didn’t have it. Unfortunately it does not tell you how to mechanically align the gears in neutral. Since the safety switch will not let me start it unless in neutral, I will just go trial and error in the full range until I find it…

    I removed the shifter handle on my 2004 260 Searay to change the trim switch (having intermittent issues that were ultimately not due to the switch) and now I’m having issues with the engine not starting… I believe because I’m unable to re-assemble properly and handle is not in the correct...

    Does anyone know what brand of trim tabs Searay used on the 04' 260DAs?.....boat is away at the dock and can't check until I come back. I'm looking into adding an auto trim controller....the "Mente Marine" is compatible with hydraulic systems like the one in the '04 and mention some brands...

    Oil refill- Marlin windlass

    For the record, changing the windlass motor fixed the problem. The failed seal in the gearbox may have contributed to the issue. Really tricky to troubleshoot as the motor without load worked fine both ways, only shorted when forced to work on high amperage.

    Installed the “rebuilt” gearbox...now going down is fine (25A)...but still trips the 60A breaker under load. Amp meter reports a short. Same when connected directly w/o the solenoid .... Electric motor??

    Around 19 A w/o load. With load (me grasping the gypsy) went to about 25 Amps. New seal fixed the oil leak.... Need to test in boat....if it keeps blowing the fuse then issue is a short somewhere else.
