We don't go on short weekends. When we do go, it is 350 miles- Tucson to Kino Bay, Mexico. 8.5 hours, if you are lucky with customs, immigration, cows, etc. We stay on the water 7-8 days and go to Baja Calif. No Coast Guard, no Marinas, no gas, no people, lots of fish, clams, birds, Etc.

I think Hampton pretty much put it all in perspective for those of you that understood it. I wish I could get my Cessna TR182 up there with the big guys for those 200 Kt tailwinds.

Somebody had a way to lube cables with a piece of vinyl tubing and air pressure. Can you please restate the particulars?

If you are in the Gulf of California ( Sea of Cortez), and the gas stops are 60-75 miles apart, you better know your MPG at various sea conditions and hope for calm seas.

Watch out for OEM manifolds leaking from the water jacket into the exhaust chamber. This can cause water to get into the combustion chambers when the engine is shut down- BAD NEWS! 3-4 years in salt water is about right, but the best idea is to flush, flush and flush some more with fresh water...
