Newbie here and figuring out things. My swim platform is aweful low to the water in my opinion. It comes up from the water 4 inches or so without standing on the platform or people on the boat. How high is everyone elses? Just want to compare notes. Does it go below the surface when getting up to plane impacting performance? I took notice as I was looking at other boats on the dock. Had no idea when I bought the boat since it was on dry dock. My fuel is at 50%, empty water tanks and the boat is not laden with any equipment/ crap (yet). Thx!
There's a long discussion on this earlier in the thread, but to summarize, 280's vary from model year/optional equipment (engines/genset)/and manufacture location (AZ or TN). my 2004 280 with twin 4.3s and a gen sits at the water level where it joins the hull. Wouldn't mind it being a bit higher to stop the "blowhole" effect when anchored in chop, but love that it's close to the water to sit on.
