Hi,
Can someone recommend a place to get the outdrive lube changed?
Mine is moored at Newport Yacht which is next to Seattle Boat but haven't used their service.
Let me know if you have any recommendation. I believe the boat has to come out for this service. Thank you.

If you have a trailer, do it yourself. It' very very easy.

Drain is located on the lower unit. The vent is located near the upper drive.

Open the lower drain. Then open the vent screw. Drain fluid.

Fill outdrive fluid in a squeeze bottle. Like an old mustard squeeze tip bottle. Put the tip in the lower drain and open the vent screw. Squeeze the fluid until it runs out of the upper vent screw location. Avoid squezing air out of the squeeze bottle. If you need more fluid to fill then close the vent to create a vacuum. Then repeat until it drips out the top vent. Once it comes out then tighten the upper vent and secure the drain plug.

That's it.

Have you checked with the SR dealer there in Seattle?

I haven't used them yet but I've heard great things about Delta Marine which is located in the Duwamish area:
Delta Marine 206-763-2383
http://www.deltamarine.com/

If you're coming by water you do need to enter the channel at high tide. They have very competitive hourly rates.

Another boat yard to try is CSR Marine located in Ballard. We have used them and they do a pretty good job. You just need to stay on top of them to stay on schedule. The work they do is solid.

For my little boat, I have used Allison Marine Service 23434 Pacific Hwy S. Des Moines 206-878-6479

No I have not checked with the SR dealer. I spoke to Rick at Master Marine a Mercruiser authorized repair facility. I am traveling and will be coming from San Diego with a few stops Ca Delta, Columbia River in Portland then up to Seattle to cruise the San Juans.I will check with the SR Dealer. Thank you

I finally got to make a few phone calls and found the labor rate is $175/hour and it takes 2.5 hours to change the lube on a single outdrive plus a hall out fee of $250 + parts, and of course a tax :)

That is really high! Who quoted that rate? Seattle Boat? Did you get an estimate from CSR? They should be much more reasonable.
