Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

Matt, nice find there.

Is it a 330 or 370 Amberjack? From your photos of the main birth it appears that the bed may be permanent and longitudinal where 330's of that year were a circular dinette that collapsed into a birth with filler cushions. In 2001 the 330 express was renamed 340 Amberjack and interior changes were the replacement of the circular dinette with a permanent angled birth, the couch along the starboard side replaced with a face to face 4 person dinette, two rather tall steps out to the helm replaced with three shallower steps, and the white interior was replaced with faux wood (either birds eye maple or cherry wood).

Outside, the only difference I've noticed between the 330/340 and 370 Amberjack is the additional isle width between the helm and passenger seats.

Either way I'm sure you will love this boat!

Any of you fishing folks have big board reels mounted? I am thinking of adding to my boat but want to use the rocket launchers and side mounted rod holders, think I may have to put a pulley of the bow in order to get those rods to run correctly.

Most of the larger boats (Tiara 31’s+, Pursuit 34’s,etc.) out of Erie run pulleys off the rails or masts with pulleys mid way from the bow and windshield. The boards may be a bit to far forward to deploy lines if you run directly off bow.

I have yet to see a 330EC/340AJ (or 340 Sundacer) with board reels either.

I picked up a used set of Traxtech planer reels (reels with a little mast)that I plan to use this summer, until I can justify spending $1k for electrics. I’ll be mounting the reels midway.

Electric reels will likely be mounted on the arch with pulleys midway,if/when I justify the spend.

Come on Spring!!!

Hi All, new owner (June '17) of a 2001 340AJ with diesels. Love the boat, my maiden voyage was from Georgian Bay to Lake St Clair, all but the last two hours in fog so thick I could barely see the bow. Was quite an adventure, anyway my boat did not include the removable couch option. Instead it has a fold up bench seat that is mostly useless. I have tried to find a "couch type seat" without any success. I was hoping that maybe someone who uses their boat for only fishing/charters, may have removed the seat and may want to sell it? I'm running out of ideas, anyone?

Here is a pic

Rob - If you're still looking for the bench seat for your boat, I have one that came with the 2000 330 Express I purchased last spring. It's in great shape - I just don't have a use for it. It's been in a storage space that I have since last spring. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it. Let me know if you're interested and I'll try and get at it to take a couple of pictures this weekend. I'm in Holland, so it's not that far of a drive if you want to come and take a look at it.

Hi All, I'm having issues finding air filters for my 3126 cats in my AJ 340. I've been to the local cat store, auto zone and trolling the internet, no one seems to be able to help, the filters are cone shaped and have k&N numbers A076B6 on one end and A050H6 on the other end, but the numbers don't seem to help, any suggestions?

I am very interested, just didn't see your response earlier, sorry, if it matches my pic then you don't need to send any pics to me just let me know how/when we can talk

Rob - Glad you're still interested! It definitely matches the picture you posted, but I'd like to send you a couple of pictures of it before you get too excited. I'll try and get those snapped this weekend. My email address is rg.nyhuis@outlook.com. We can use that for any future correspondence. Bob Nyhuis

You should post your inquiry in the engine diesel section or you can PM Frank Webster who is the diesel guru On this forum

Thanks, I just spent 45 mins in a chat with a KN rep, seems that the numbers on the filter are not part numbers but mold numbers. They said they discontinued the filters and do not make a replacement. Also they could not give me the old part number?? I have called my mechanic and we will probably just modify to fit a currently made filter, who would have thought it would be such a problem just trying to do easy maintenance...

Looking for a bit of guidance on the cabin couch. My kids were down below putting it down, and now the motor will not operate.

Is there a breaker to reset somewhere? I am guessing they kept there little hands on the switch for too long after it was down.

Thanks in advance.

On the Dc breaker panel there is a breaker for the accessory switch which runs the couch possibly it was tripped sometimes my couch motor stops running when my batteries are low but it doesn’t pop the breaker almost like a overload cut off if I release the button press it again and use my knee to push the couch until it gets over the hump, but I never had the motor quit completely

Accessory breaker on DC panel was tripped. Thanks!!!!!

When I get some time I’ll post some Picts of mods recently done on my boat. Maybe this thread can be rekindled.
