310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

The generator had to be detached to install the casing but no significant plumbing or rewire. Cost was $2000 installed 4 years ago.

Plasteak EZ Boat Sole (Nautikflor) installed on a 2007 310 Sundancer.

Wow. that's gorgeous! You wouldn't happen to have templates made for it would you? I would happily pitch in to defray the cost.

oops. nevermind. I see yours is a 2007 which is a bit different than my 2002.

Thanks. No templates. It was a custom install.

anyone have a part # or place/item # for fuel fill O-ring on cap. i believe the deckfill is 1-1/4" but could be wrong. It looks like most deck fills are 1-1/2"

My parts manual says 1.5" cap #1880328

i have been reading all the pages, currently looking at 310 08 with B3 axius & SeaCore, what are the things that i should be aware of and look for at survey time and sea trial? it's a salt water boat, but has the SeaCore. I read something about Steering pin and water intrusion, where do I look for that? I read about Axius white glove service, I think it has the skyhook as well. Anyone install automatic trimtabs? thanks in advance!

its a good boat, i prefer the V drives over the outdrives by far. i have the stock trim tabs and they work just fine. i do have rust on my steering pin. i would look for normal things during seatrial and survey and check maintenance records if they exist, see when the risers and or manifolds were done last.

I’m sure you already know this, but Get an engine survey by a mechanic, and get a hull survey by a normal marine surveyor. The mechanic should be familiar enough with MerCruiser to let you know what to look for. Maintenance records are extremely valuable, I would get those prior to survey so mechanic can see what has been done and will let you know what is needed. If you are spending 60k-100k on this boat, well worth it.

If the steering pin is leaking you will see staining where the outdrives come through the transom into the engine room.

I love the B3s and the Axius on this boat. Great performance and the engine room is very open which makes service much easier.

The survey in 2 steps. Step 1: oil samples, compression test, hull and visual inspection. The second part will be more thorough, sea trails and engine checks. Of course will test Axius, skyhook and what else? I will be at the second step as I will have to travel and trying to keep it to one trip. I have asked for the maintenance records and waiting for them, hopefully before sea trials. The boat is owned by MM and was a trade so they are going to prep the boat. So part 1 is before prep, part 2 after the prep (detail, bottom paint, oil changes) . I'm looking for specific things to look for on this boat so that i can get them to address it before I pay for it. make sense?

Ready the thread, I identified things like the freezer drawer seems to have issues, water in the bilge seems to be normal, smell in the cabin after cruising due to having water in certain areas not drained properly, what else should I be looking for?

What issues if any should be looking for on how the Axius works? or triggers that point to an issue?

In my experience the Axius system either works or it doesn't. Only problem I have had was related to bad batteries. Merc recommends that you use AGM batteries with Axius. The only issues I have had with my 330 is with the generator. The Kohler is a piece of shit. I have put the local Kohler tech's kid through college with all of the service calls.

Thanks for you feedback.

im looking for someone who has an 07, 08 310DA with 6.2 and v drives for there actual WOT rpms
im having an issue and want to confirm someones #'s with stock props. thanks

Also another question for 310 owners (2007 and newer). I have the 6.2 VDrives, don't know if anyone else does out there, but if you do, what have you found to be your best cruising speed? (how does that equate out for speed (mph), fuel usage (gph), and RPM's)

Thanks
my best cruise was 3800+- rpm was about 23knots and fuel burn was right around 28-30gph anything slower and she fell off plane after a bit in anything but great conditions and anything more just burned more fuel
