KevinC - My Raymarine C80 won't power on. I am trying to locate where it gets its 12V supply from. Did you remove yours yet and can tell me where that 12V supply cable connects in our boats? I see the cable on the back of the unit, now just need to understand where it gets its 12V feed connection.
Thanks..

I have a Raymarine Pathfinder RL70 and not the C80 and I have not removed it yet but will more than likely be involved with some aspect of that this weekend (wrap is still not off because of the weather on Long Island). I am pretty sure they would pull their power source from the same place so I will let you know what I find.

Unfortunately, I am very experienced with your situation. If that railing is loose and you are seeing water leaking inside, it is almost certain that the coring on your deck is wet. It seems that SeaRay did a poor job of sealing and thoroughly tightening these rails on many boats. A few of the bolts are accessible through existing holes in the ceiling, but the headliner must come out for the few that are located over the berth. My best advice to anyone in the market for a 340sda is to try to find one that did not have the bow/handhold rail option. They are prone to leaking and there is no easy way to access them for preventative maintenance. If you decide to pull out headliner, I do have a source for the headliner material which was discontinued long ago.

Bankyf- are you able to send me a direct message so I can reach out to you to get some pointed advice on removing the headliner on my 2006 sea ray 340? I’m having the same serious internal water leak coming from the loose rails of the sunpad above the galley.

Hello All.
I have an issue recently and I am not sure if this is the place to post, but here it is.
2006 340 with twin Inboard 8.1 horizons.
While running at about 24 to 27 mph I lose power in both engines. This happens typically about an hour or two of running regardless of how long I have been on plane (combination idle speed then on plane then back to idle). Both RPM gauges fall like I turned off the engines and within a second or so I hear the ignition beep and power is returned. No rough running of any kind before or after. It usually takes another two to three hours to happen again. This has happened in relatively calm seas, and does not happen in rough seas thus far. It has happened only one time continuously (only 1 to two minutes between repeating) after running for 5 hours. Then again after 3 or 4 instances did not happen again for the rest of the day (3 additional hours). The following day it did not happen at all 6 hours of continuous running. So far it has happened with full, three quarter and half a tank of gas. I have not gone below just under half a tank of fuel. I have never had to restart the engines and never had to reduce power or have rough engine. No black smoke or other issues. Also I went to change the fuel/water separators and cannot find them. Does this model have the Racor filters or just the small secondary filters?
Any assistance would be helpful.

I started having an intermittent issue last year also, when i was getting ready to strt the boat, flip the ignition switch on the dash, hear the beep and watch the gauges cycle, then push the switch all the way down to start. One engine this worked perfectly for, and the other it wouldn’t. I would push the switch, no beep, no gages moving. A couple seconds would go by and finally the beep would come. One time I think I had to tune it back off and then back on to get the beep and gauges cycle. Any thoughts?

I see you posted this issue in multiple threads - to get the best responses it better to to keep it in one place. That way people offering help will be able to track all the previous options offered.

As far as the cut out - as others on the other post mentioned it sounds electrical - maybe a common ground - and you can probably read the fault code off the engine if you have vessel view or get a tech, friend or dockmate that has a reader. I picked up one just for this reason.

As far as the fuel filters... you most likely have the Cool Fuel Gen 3 (CF3) on your boat and not the spin on type. the CF3 module would be located to the front of the engine (back of the boat with v-drives) on the lower port side. Follow the fuel lines from the tank and you will find where they are.

I would check the simple things like the neutral cutoff switch. I had that a couple of times when trying to start - one engine good - the other no good. Checked the shifters and someone must have pushed one slightly out of neutral. Now I start with that before ignition.

Hello Micheal. Sounds like you and I have the same issue see post #1246. I was out today and boat ran well for nearly 2 hrs before hearing the ignition beep and watching port tac fall to 0. Within a second or 2 power returns and like you, haven’t needed to restart the engine. It happened at various speeds and it’s very frustrating. Opened the dash and checked all connections. Tomorrow going in bilge and will check all grounds as well as opening electric panel in cabin and check all its connections. My mechanic found no faults on his computer and seems stumped. I’ll write if I find a cure.

im Interested to know if either one of you have checked the fuel pressure, maybe u are experiencing some kind of high pressure situation after awhile of running from the gen III cool fuel module paint problems

Sounds like a trend with the 06 340s. I too am having the same problem. Very intermittent and actually had it on the computer when it happened and nothing came up. I have cleaned all of the grounds on both engines, checked the neutral switch on the affected (port)m engine and am finding nothing. Removed fuel injectors last season and had cleaned and removed gen III system and cleaned as well. Same problem, no changes. I agree it must be electrical of some sort. One of those phantom problems that will be chased until found. Once found, will most likely be something simple. Will keep eye on this thread and post any new attempts at figuring it out.

I dug into the helm today and mine seems to get its power from a "BlueSeas" breaker box mounted to the starboard side of the access panel beneath the steering wheel. Not sure if the box was original or added by the previous owner. Glad I got to take a look as I found lots of stuff that needs to be cleaned up when I upgrade my electronics.

Mark, have you checked the blade fuse red (10A IIRC) at the "BlueSeas" breaker box as @KevinC mentioned.

When you check it you'll see an other fuse which is for the Northstar vhf at least mine is there and I check it sometimes.

I think I’m goin to attempt to replace my manifolds and exhaust elbows. 1750$ is the labor I would be saving

Should not be too hard. Just a bunch of bolts. Hit everything with a little pblaster the day before. Cut down a couple of bolts to studs that can be hand threaded in and you can slide the manifolds in using them to align and just unscrew when the real bolts are in. Tricky part is the size. To long and you will not clear the opposite engine. Too short you will not be able to unscrew.

Kevin thanks for the advice, hopefully the job won’t be too hard, seems to be the theme, pb blaster, cut heads off of bolts, sounds like a plan, hopefully I can pull it off.

Anyone know a part number, or where to order the gas shocks for the cabinets on either side of the front berth?

On my to do list also. My boat does not have them and I am tired getting hit in the head fumbling for something. If you find them let me know. There are some cheap gas shocks available on eBay but I have not had time to measure.

Ok I have them in there, they just aren’t not working so I’ll check for a part number incouple weeks when I open it up
