Haven't seen anyone from Southern California here and just wondered where they all are? Sound off, people. Let's represent and state your home port, weekender or full timer and what your interests are.

I lived in California for almost 20 years and in the time I was on this forum there were very few members from the Golden State. There are a few and I even tried to organize a gathering in the Delta where I last live and boated but I could never get enough interest. I now live in the New Orleans area and it's not much better here.

In Cali but up North. I like to visit SoCal on occasion but not sure I can be so close to the dozen or so true Dodger fans.

Nuther Delta-rat here. I'd move south, but San Diego-rat just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Since all the Northern California boaters are chiming in, I guess I will too! I’m also on the delta. I love San Diego though. I will be down there for the first round of March madness next week. My wife keeps telling me to try to get transferred to San Diego. She would move in a heartbeat!

what is march madness?? Man, I can't believe there's so few from SD - or Southern California. I guess everyone's too busy enjoying the sunny weather on their boats. Ha!!!

This is a question for the Northern California boaters: Is there an organized group that goes to the Delta. I think it would be a good trip to see some of Californias' more beautiful waterways. It just seems so confusing up there. Maybe the hubs and I can make a journey up there and do some exploring. I'll take any info or suggestions any of you might care to offer.

Another Nor-Cal SF-bay and delta boater here. It’s quite a journey from SD. Once you get here though there are plenty of places to venture thru the bay and delta waterways. If you do, look us up at Solano Yacht Club and we will set you up on our complimentary dock.

Yes, the Sea Ray Boat Club of Northern California is mostly a Delta Club. We do have a yearly cruise to the bay but we have a monthly cruise-out and there are very knowledgeable members that know about Sea Rays and where to go (and where to stay away from) in the Delta. I am a past Commodore, so I can help with any questions. Any Northern California Sea Ray owner should consider joining our club. We have no property so yearly dues are only $125 still.

I'm in Ventura - 34 ft 340 Sundancer
Nice to hear from you. We haven’t beeen Boat up that way yet but we do want to make a trip up to the Delta and Ventura most likely will be one of the stops along the way. If you’re ever down in San Diego, drop a line, we are slipped at the Hyatt Resort Marina, mission beach.

Marina del Rey here. 340 Sundancer. Frequently over in Catalina as well.

I think we're going to Avalon this summer.
Avalon in the summer can be hard to get a spot, unless you know someone who owns a mooring or are up to anchor. I generally do the Ishtmus on the summer an Avalon in the off season. My last trip to Avalon will be in May and I’ll start going back that way in September. I’ll be at Two Harbors in between.
