I contacted Lumitec because I am torn between the all blue underwater lights or the blue/white. When I asked about the brightness they told me the dual color only has full brightness when both colors are on and half when blue or white only is on. Makes sense but with out a Lumen measurement that’s not much help - I have asked. I would think that the all blue full out put may not be as bright as the blue white together, because of the white. I could be wrong and half blue or half white may be bright enough - and the full output both blue and white a bonus. Or maybe half the LEDs not enough and relatively useless. ??? I boat in NE waters primarily and have a big platform, putting two lights on aft port and Starboard sides and four on the transom. SeablazeX. Anyone have any experience?

I guess that makes sense since the lights are the same size. Probably plenty bright anyway. I just installed a Diablo double Vega drain plug set. Moved from one to two with a drain port. So far it has been great without drilling more holes.

Really on a 380? That’s got to be deep no? - although I’m not sure what that light is exactly. Where are you in RI?

White is brighter then blue. So if comparing single color white with single color blue, the white is brighter, more output. With a dual color blue/white with white on, white is still brighter, then with blue on. Both colors on is as bright as the dual color light gets. Somewhere between the output of a single color white and single color blue.

Ive never really liked the single dual color. if I want something other then a single color, id go RGB like the SeaBlaze-X Spectrum.

Russ I would say 6 lights are going to be plenty of light. Here is a picture from the bridge of my buddy's 400DB. He has 3 Seablaze on his transom. He only has the white on in this pic. I am tied off next to him and I have 3 Oceanled's (Green) 2-A6 pros and 1-A12 pro in the middle. I think the green penetrates through the water better. I mainly got the green because my canvas is green. But this should give you an idea what 3 Seablaze look like across the transom only.

I'm installing the Seablaze X full spectrum this year. 3000 lumen and plenty bright. We tested one this week and they were quite bright and impressive.. RGBW WITH multiple settings for the complete spectrum or setting for individual colors.

The white doesn’t look that great compared to the green Oceans. Funny I was originally looking at the Oceans. Which Seablaze does he have? Single color white?

I need to replace 4 , by P.O., otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it at all. And to balance I need to add 2. Those RGBWs are too expensive!

Thinking of doing the same. How many are you putting on?

Lights with comparable output, white is brighter. Lumitec offers about 10 different models currently, not to mention the long retired seablaze-2. Hard to make that green white comparison without knowing which model light that white one is. The old SB-2 and even the SB-3 are not very bright compared to other available lights. Solid light, just not bright by today's standards.

I believe he has the Seablaze X (not sure model #). I know he has the 2 color (blue/white). The combinations are just blue, just white, both, fade, and strobe. They might do more not sure. The more I look at that pic, the more I don't think it does his lights justice. I think the green is just dominate. His lights seem brighter when not beside the green. I looked for a picture of his by there selves but, I guess I don't have one. Sorry

That’s helpful, thank you

FWIW, I've only got 2 Seablaze X Spectrums and they're crazy bright. Not sure this helps your decision, but I'll throw a few pics up

I have 2 of the new Seablaze X2 spectrums on the back of a donkey from West Marine. Looking at the specs they should be super bright. I ordered them a month ago and they have been in transit for about that long. If and when I get them I'll report back! (no they didn't give me a tracking number as they were shipping from the supplier)

Well, just to update this thread... I will cast my vote for the seablaze spectrums... Holy freakin crap are these things bright... I originally tried to purchase the newer x2 spectrums but they won't be available until sometime after June of this year so yeah... wasn't going to wait. West Marine made it right with me and I got two of the spectrums instead. Even in our chocolate milk looking Lake Erie spring waters they still put out a good 6 to 8 feet behind the boat. I can't wait to see them in clearer waters around the islands... If you look online you can get a better price than MAP and West Marine will now price match again which is GREAT because you can get some extra money back on their gold rewards... Now... just as a warning on these... I did notice that I have some feed back from the power supplies that these lights use coming back through my stereo system. Now it may not be a problem for some but I have a pretty intense stereo. I will be adding some shielding on my stereo to mitigate the noise from the lights but other than that feed back they are awesome... 2 on a 12' beam is more than sufficient.
