410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Very true, we are definitely not set on diesels though we we will be seeing a gas version and diesel this weekend if weather is ok.

I was nervous about going to diesels because I had never owned or touched one before. Started looking first at 380 gassers before opening the search to 410 diesel boats.
I’m so glad I went with the diesels.
About 6 months before I found my 410 we had a deal written on a 380 (gas) and it fell through. We were broken hearted. Especially since it resulted on us missing a full season of boating.
It turned out to be a blessing. Had that deal gone through we would have missed out on what we have now.

JVM i agree we would love the Diesel over Gas,
I dont think with are boating style we would see any benefit but I love the sound of Diesel and My truck burns the Coal as well.
Mtandy we would throw cash in on top for the right boat just haven't seen any yet where we weren't asking for 20K off asking and thats without Survey and bringing CAT out to go over boat.
Hoping to find some good clean boats at boat show and we are viewing hopefully 4 boats on Sunday (ones a carver/trojan though if anyones in the harrison twn shp area and knows of a 440 express would love some insight).

I looked at this same boat in Fall of 2015 and it was clean. I would have gotten this boat but I was a little early and the seller wasn't quite sure he wanted to sell back then. I bought my current boat from Platium and Bill was the sales guy I was working with. I have known him for a long time. Every aspect of the purchase was awesome. They even delivered it to my slip because I had something at work I couldn't get out of. If this boat looks like it did when I saw it and I think it will, you won't be disappointed. It was taken care of. I did not have a survey done on it though. Good Luck and if you would like to ask me any questions about it or other ones in this area just shoot me a PM.

Wow, I'm confused? Are you Jamie, or the guy who owns the 400 that Platinum has for sale?

Thats not me...
That 400 at platinum is nice but out of my price range. Saw a 450 Dancer tonight in St Catharines again in much need of repair. I guess we have till april to find something decent.

No I'm not Jamie or the guy that has the boat for sale. I'm Joe, I was working with Billy (Platium Sales Guy) in Fall 2015 looking for a 400. Billy showed me the 97 400 that is listed with Platium now during the 2015 Metro Boat Show. I was just letting Jamie know what I saw and the experience I had with Billy and Platium. Sorry for the confusion. Should have explained better when I replied to your previous post. Although I'm not sure how you thought I was the owner of the Platium 400 when my boat is listed under my picture.

Mine is in perfect condition, you will not be disappointed. If you buy before March 31 ( when slip renews for a yr.) I will knock 3k off,the price.

JVM,
We have a similar story. Last summer we were looking at 380's and 410 gassers. I was scared of the diesels too. I met Tom (TNT 8808) at our marina and he took me under his wing, taught me that they were nothing to be scared of. From there we took a cruise on a 410 with diesels and we were hooked. We bought a 2000 410 with 3116's in August and enjoyed it very much. Currently we are doing all kinds of "little fix ups" and counting down the days until we can get it back in the water.
Plus this site is an amazing place to learn about the boat, tons of knowledge here being shared.
Thanks
Pat

Do you know the owner we are in area this weekend and would like to view unfortunately the brokers are all busy at the boat show

I do not, however I've worked with Matt Ginsberg (one of the brokers) at JBYS and if you contact him he may be able to get you the owners name and help make arrangements. He's really good to work with.

I believe the owner of that boat is a member here by the name of Batch? It was listed in the classifieds thread if I'm not mistaken.

Rope Lighting Question? I have three different sections of rope lighting on my 98' 400. One under the toe kick in the galley, one running along the starboard by the curtains covering the port lights and I just found another section under the v berth by the forward ac/table storage. Some of it works some not. I think this is all 12v as I can see the connection in the v berth. Does anyone know where the power connection is for the string under the galley? It seems to disappear behind the cabinets. Also, is this stuff factory? Anyone replaced theirs? I'd love to just plug in a new set but most of what I see is newer flat tape looking stuff, recommendations? Thanks posting here as my question is sort of model specific...

Following : I have the same ones and have always thought that they aren't very bright or even noticeable for that matter. I don't even pay attention to them except to bend over and look under v berth to make sure their not on. I wouldn't mind upgrading mine also.

My early 400 only has them under the master berth. They've been on my list to replace for a looong time. With LED options getting better and better, it's probably time to get serious about it.

Mine are only under the Master berth too. They’re 12 volt, factory installed and controlled by the indirect light switch just inside the cabin door and up in the master stateroom.
I swapped out all the 12 volt bulbs in the cabin fixtures to warm white LED’s and that rope light is on my wish list of things to change but I haven’t been able to find a warm white replacement.
Dual color warm white and blue would be ideal for me but I haven’t been able to find that either.

Anyone have an idea where to find a burgee rail staff for what I believe is at least 1 3/8" bow rail. All the decent ones I find fit up to 1".
My 40EC had 1" rails.
