2000 340 battery

Mine are setup as two port batteries together parallel as house and port engine, then starboard engine and gen each on their own with a 3 bank charger to charge all. I just replaced all 4 batteries with new agm's last weekend due to the same problem with starboard battery last you that you are having. Trying to decide if I should upgrade my charger now to a more modern one
OP, This is the set up we have. Tbrown, you'll need a new charger for the AGM's

Thanks CJM that's the setup I have and yes I have a genni and also a newer battery charger View attachment 53146
I bought the same charger and installed it last fall, great product.. It looks like the old Promarine Chargers have the same life span.. Good luck..

Ok thanks for your feed back... I have a few more questions....1) can I just run one deep cycle battery for the house and 3 dual purpose for motor and genni... but if the starboard motor and house batteries are connected in parallel if I change those to to deep cycle will that be strong enough to start the motor....

I replaced all 4 of mine in an '02 340DA, same configuration as yours, with general purpose AGM's (went up from 27's to 31's). None of them are "starter" batteries, but I never have trouble with the gen or engine starts. The 2 bat house bank is able to run both fridges overnight on the hook with no problem. I usually fire up the genny in the morning to freshen things up if I'm staying another day.

I do have a newer charger that has an AGM setting to do the 3 banks.

Thanks for the help I have decided to replace the batteries... looking online the boat is calling for group 31 800 cca 200 reserve the cheapest I found was 300 bucks each for agm.... so I may just do the 2 for the starboard side for now.... do u guys have any recommendations for cheaper batteries.... from what I have read the agm gives the best bang for the buck
I just installed 4 of the Duracell 31m AGM's and also upgraded me onboard charger. World of difference. My interior lights are even brighter. Batteries plus also gives you 10% off for online order, store pickup but I just went in and bought them and they still gave me the 10% off. Charger is ProNautic 12-30

The batteries that are set up in a parallel connection should be exactly the same. The deep cycle is will be used for the house, they will give you enough starting power.. The other 2 batteries do not need to be deep cycle, staring power (CCA) is more important. Also, do not mix AGM's with acid.. Go one way or the other.

Ok

Ok thanks I'll probably go with Duracell from battery plus agm's 2 deep cycle on the starboard side and 2 800cc on the port side....
