Lumitec under water lights...

Lumiitec Seablaze X's (white and blue with fade/strobe) on my boat - they were under $300 from Northern Marine Electronics.

View attachment 52737 View attachment 52736 I used 6 SeablazeX blue light spaced every 30” Seablaze lights are cheaper but you will need more lights to do the job. Use 4200 or equivalent sealant. You may have to remove them someday. You can remove them with 5200 but you will have a tougher time. Drill a 1/2” hole and use enough sealant to do the job on a sanded clean hull (no bottom paint).
You do not need to go the epoxy route and then redrill, you won’t get any water intrusion if you do it correctly.

The lights will draw 3.7 amps, the light comes with about 4/5 feet of wire, use good butt connectors with shrink tubing at the connection all wrapped in a split loom. All wires should be connected to a fused panel (each light should have it’s own 5amp fuse.

Install a relay at the panel operated by a switch at the helm, your Carling switch is not able to operate all of the lights, you need to use a relay. Each light is 3.7amp X 6=22.2 amps. Your switch is probably a 20amp maximum switch. NG! The relay can handle 40 amps. And remember to use the correct guage wire, use a guage & amp chart. The maximum fuse is determined by the wire guage not the load, don’t over fuse a small guage wire. I ran 18/2 tin copper.

If you want, I’ll send you some pics on my install.

Good luck,
Bow Tie

Great information, I'm looking at the Sea Blaze x spectrums. Is it possible to send some pictures of your install? Thanks

I'm debating on how many to do.. 3 is gonna be hard because of the zink in the middle so its gonna be 2 or 4....

Installed two seablaze x on the 440, great light output. Would more look better? Sure, but I haven't felt the need to add more after the first season. They keep up with the 52 dancers that have 4 of the sea blaze 3 fwiw.

I am running off the genny battery using a bocatech circuit breaker switch located at the aft cockpit entry. It is really a nice setup when we arrive after dark. The switch is nice and low profile.

install. I couldn't be happier. I'm not sure if the same lights are available anymore. I talked to Oceanled when I did mine and they said that they were going to be discontinued.

Sorry about the order of the pics in the last post. The middle is the A-12 and the sides are A-6's. If I remember right the cost was just under 500.00 total. Here is a picture from the bridge of my buddy's 400DB. He installed 3 Lumitec Seablaze X (the blue and white). Running white in this pic.

They draw 3.7 amps each at 12vdc. If you run all 6 through one relay you will get a voltage drop of 1.5 volts, split the lights on two fuse blocks, each panel powered by its own relay using one switch at the helm.

We installed four Lumitec Seablazex Underwater Light 2 Color Blue & White. Fun to watch the fish swimming by the stern.

installed 3 lumitec sea blaze assemblies on my 400 express in 2016......2 are still working and one 1 is not. planning a haul out in the fall and see what's up. Sealed with 4200 when I installed them so they should come off OK.

This is our 4 Oceanled lights they are constructed well and very bright. I must be honest they almost pin the Amp meter when I turn them on , if I’m on Inverter /no genny I won’t even put them on. So look at amperage totals and think when you’ll use them. I’m sure most are all pretty close when it comes to Lumens now days.

Yes that’s a person on the roof, it’s my son he thought it was a cool view of Boston Harbor. He got down when he heard the dinghy coming closer....
