What are the best boats Sea Ray has built and Why?

Okay, okay I'm in. The 1992 290 DA is the best ever...period.
 
This is easy for us seasonal boaters... The one that is safely in your slip come spring! :smt038

I don't know Mike, it kinda looked a little Girlie to me. But I will say that if that car had been Navy Blue or Black, I wouldn't be living in the house that I'm in now.

I guess I made the right decision cuz I'm really happy with the house and all.
 
No doubt the 1998- 2000 330 EC. Huge cockpit with the 13.5 beam. Best "hybrid" can be cruised or fished. Ride is unbelievable with the 2.78 L/B ratio and still has a 23 knt cruise.
 
I love our 44 Da but if there was any boat I wish SR would build again I’d have to say the 97-99 370 EC. It was imo the perfect all around boat. They where great looking also.

52DB, sweet ride, great styling, love lots of things about her. Must admit the 420AC we sold and had for 10 years was a great boat and extremely user friendly with great space. Like everything in life there are always trade offs. The perfect Boat is weigh over my pay grade and even if I could afford to custom build one it’s only a matter of time before I’d say, I wished I’d a done this a little bit differently!
 
Agree with the comments about the 2000 era 330 EC, never owned one, but heard nothing but good about it. My all time favorite is the 1999-2002 340DA. Really for me all the Sundancers from 1997 to 2006 or so, they started putting the forward swept arch on them, all of them had similar lines - whether it was 18ft or 50ft, you new it was a SeaRay.

The 370EC is a great boat. Those of with older 390ECs would stake our claim as well.
 
Best all around, all market boat?

I would put the 03-08 340 DA at or near the top.
 
I can't just vote on one. :)

First, I agree on the 370 Express. Never understood why they discontinued that boat and the smaller 330/340EC version. I was on a 370 this past summer and really like the cockpit and the lines are gorgeous.

Second, I do love the lines and size of the 390 EC. For us we ended up with a 390EC because it was huge, had bunk beds and was a great value. If I could get this boat completely refitted (diesels, paint refreshed cabin, updated dash...) by a professional that would actually do the job right, I'd consider keeping it.

We had a 01 340 Aj but we out grew it. If they still made the 370 ec we would have gotten that. We went with the 07 44 da because of the room and we got a good deal on it new in 07 and we for a lot for trade in from the 340.
They quit making it because it did not sell in Florida. You see them all over the Great Lakes but unfortunately the Great Lake is a small market to Sea Ray. I do not understand how because I would say 70% of the boats you see on the Great Lakes are Sea Rays.
 
97-2000 400 Sundancer with the Cat's. Well balanced, great handling, and dry machine. I got just less than 1MPG at 22 knots and all in a great stable ride. The engines were mechanical so to run all that was needed fuel and a capability to turn them over. Probably the best hull bottom Sea Ray ever made; wide stable and tracks like on rails. I love my 52DB but my 400DA was simply a wonderful boat. I ran that boat to the Bahamas probably ten times and never questioned it's capability including the times we saw blue water over the boat....

I think the 280 and 340 would be close for their best boat ever built, dollar for dollar.
