Hi I have just joined so not sure if ok to ask questions here. I had my searay serviced over winter and have just had in water but there is no water coming out of taps etc. I rung boat place that serviced it but they weren't much help just Wondering if there are any checks I can do myself. Sorry but I am not great at engines stuff etc but any tips would be great.

Make sure your fresh water pump is turned on... should be a DC switch/breaker in the breaker panel.

Be sure to list the year of your 260 and engine/drive in your profile.

No water pressure is basically one of these... check them in this order, other's will chime in I'm sure.

1. Make sure you actually have water in your freshwater tank
2. Make sure you have the pumps turned on in the breaker panel. (you should hear them running, or go look)
3. Make sure the strainer is not clogged. It is clear and just after the pump, it could also be cracked.
4. Make sure all of the faucets are off, don't forget about the transom locker, freshwater shower, anchor locker, bilge...etc

If all of this fails...

Check for voltage at the pump and report back...

Welcome to CSR!

If pump runs and tank is full you may have an air leak at the strainer or air in the pump. I get the air out of the pump by opening and closing a tap a few seconds at a time. If you have an air leak at the strainer you can try to seal it with plumber tap clear silicon it is in the plumbing section. Comes in 1.5" diameter by 1/2" high plastic container. It is designed for potable water systems. It looks like clear grease.

Welcome - The 260DA is a great boat and I loved my 2003 when I had it.

The fresh water pump would be turned on via the "peanut" control pad at the dash. The switch looks like a rectangle with zigzag lines inside. You would also need to have your DC power turned on at the port side battery switch.

You will need to have water in the tank as others have mentioned. Also, if you are hooked up to dock water then that would provide the pressure and you would not need to turn on the pump.

Also check all the faucets - it is not that uncommon to find a faucet that is clogged from sediment. In that case you might just have to remove and clean the aerator.

Thank you all this is so helpful and my job tomorrow is to go through everyone's ideas. Being in New Zealand I can't believe how helpful everyone is. I will let you know how I go. Cheers Tony
