Brunswick selling off Sea Ray brand

Why are you guys feeding this idiot?
Doubt he even has a boat, just signed up to stir it up.
Ya know Greg, you're absolutely correct. My earlier post in response to ADD was my last post in response to him.

Greg, FYI, we're taking the Seahawk off the boat Thursday in case you see the boat out of the slip that afternoon.

One small example... the increased cost of a college education you are complaining about is directly related to the government getting in the business of ensuring virtually anyone could get a loan for education. That created a much bigger pool of customers. As a result, this allowed colleges and universities to charge more money.
This also made the 4 year degree obsolete. Now you must have a master's to compete. Why isn't there more support for skilled trade schools. Use your hands and save your money. God forbid any privileged millennial get their hands dirty

In my view, and this is just my opinion, things will be better when we stop to send/keep manufactures abroad to reduce cost but at the same time eliminating all these jobs that could be potential buyers. What is the point to get products cheaper if nobody can afford anymore because their jobs are gone?

This thread is about Brunswick selling off Searay. If Add wants to start his own thread he is welcome to it.

I don't think he is getting your gentle nudging.

Moderator please delete the ADDed non-sense... I believe I know now what A.D.D. stands for... But I believe the H is missing...

No, I found it stupid and offensive, and if you believe most people in the millenial age bracket act like that, you're living in a bubble. I would say about half the people I know my age or younger have never even gone to starbucks because they don't want to spend $5 on a cup of coffee.

I guess if I start generalizing old people it's fine, right?

I signed up because I was searching for info on Brunswick selling sea ray, and found this thread. Then I found some idiots spouting idiotic generalities about my entire generation.

And that's awesome! In fact, so awesome I smell a hint of BS. But statisticaly, she is an anomaly. Most people do not experience that kind of luck. You need to zoom out and look at her entire generation, their average incomes, their average debt, and compare it to YOUR generation.
You should have said this in the beginning and you wouldn't have had to put up all those graphs and stats.

Your peers look at you and say you're 'lucky', that you lived in a warehouse and worked extra hours has nothing to do with it.

So how am I stupid?

The mods are deleting your posts to keep this thread on topic about Brunswick selling Sea Ray. You keep bringing it back to your charts and graphs. That's fine, just start a new thread to do it so we can talk in this thread about the impending sale of Sea Ray.

It's winter, if you post your stuff in the Holding Tank you will get a lively discussion.

Back to the original topic.........

"Brunswick Corp. has had a “robust” response from strategic and financial potential buyers of its Sea Ray brand, which the company announced was for sale earlier this month.

"We’re required to run a public process, being Brunswick, but I would say we’ve had very strong response from strategic and financial potential buyers,” Huw Bower, president and vice president of Brunswick Boat Group, told Trade Only Today. "

The first part of the sentence is misleading. He should know better than to say that. If it were true, we would be sharing opinions on the "Book" that they assembled to shop Sea Ray around. That book contains the Financials and forecasts for the brand and what similar companies are valued at.

The fact they are making it public tells me now they privately were unable to find a buyer behind closed doors.

The GOP tax bill gives massive cuts to the wealthy, who are already not paying the same share they USED to pay

AND AGAIN, I am doing great. I have a great job. I bought a house (sort of, bank owns technically), and I did so by living in a warehouse for 3 years and freelancing after my full time job every single night. That's how I got ahead. Most of my friends aren't willing to live illegally in a warehouse though.

I don't want socialism. If we could just turn back the clock............

It is hard to give tax relief to people who pay little or no taxes. The rich (i.e., taxpayers ) are always going to benefit from any cuts to rates. You have not lived long enough to understand what progressive taxes did to those who worked before Reagan was President. If we got a raise, we were pushed into a higher tax bracket. Between paying for government and double digit inflation caused by government policy, we did not benefit as much as you think. Nixon froze our salaries and many took pay cuts, myself included.

"Doing great" has nothing to do with how many cars you own, where your house is or the size of it. Shallow people may believe this to be the case but it really has very little to do with being happy or successful.

Generally speaking, hard working people are luckier in life. But even those who suffer more than their share of bad luck can be happy individuals. It has more to do with how you see things. It speaks to character. We have all experienced character building events. How you respond to them is important. Uncle Sam will not do much for you.

As far as "rolling back the clock....." Right. Seriously? Where has that ever worked? As young people look ahead, they need to look for opportunities and not pine away for the good old days. The good old days are right now.

Life tossing you a bunch of lemons? Make lemonade. Things gong great? Enjoy. You are here for a short time. How you spend your time here is your decision to make.
