CSR Northeast Flotilla 2017

Ron, sorry but the raw bar ran out..lol

I'll pray that they resupply so we can get a fix tomorrow. We're a day behind you guys. I suppose now you'll go and eat/drink out The Oar before we get to BI... ;)

Swinging on a mooring now in Cuttyhunk. Shredded a brand new impeller that was new this season on the genny. Swapped out my spare and shredded that as well. It sure why but I think it bound up on startup.Fortunately I still had last seasons so back up and running. Hope to find a new spare in Block. What time is everyone arriving tomorrow?
Dean, I may have an extra spare genny impeller on my boat if you need it. I will have to take a look when I get down to the boat on Thursday night.
We will be in Block around 9:30am in Friday morning coming from Falmouth. I have to do a little work this week to help pay for fuel.

We are in Block at Champlins, been here since Sunday, staying till Saturday. Weather could not be any better!!
If anyone stops by Champlins we are on the outside of the horseshoe on the East side (closer to Boat Basin), on the Pershing (It's All Good 2)

Alex, are you going straight from home to BI? We've been at MYC since Friday and am heading to BIBB Thursday after fueling up. We will dinghy out to see you guys or stop by if you come in to the Oar. Safe travels.

Brian,

We decided to stay on CT side during the weather and big blow last weekend, so we went to Mystic. We're in Block now and plan on staying until Sunday.

Sorry we are missing the trip this year. Have a cold one or two for us and we will definitely be there next year!!!

How'd you guys make out at Block? I heard the seas were terrible coming back yesterday.

Block was a great time as usual. Small crowd this year but great people so it was as fun as always. We got some rain on Saturday mid-day so it was a good time for a nap but then it cleared out and we made good use of the sunny afternoon. The wind changed on Saturday night from SSW to NW so that always makes for an interested situation in a tight anchoring field, we had to make some adjustments and add a stern anchor around midnight to avoid swinging too far into another boat. My ride back to Falmouth, MA was 2-4ft seas but directly following the whole way so really not a bad ride at all. I know a few others had a wet ride back to CT destinations.

We were lucky, and had a relatively easy ride, since we were heading east back to the Buzzards Bay area. Left BI around 1pm. We were surfing 3-4 foot following seas most of the way, but not the pounding we'd have if we were heading west into it. The worst part of the trip was the short run from the mouth of New Harbor until we made it around the northern tip of the island and made our turn East. It was probably a rougher ride into head seas for the folks heading towards CT.

Great weekend, fun people to be around! Thanks to Alex for organizing it. It was nice to put faces to the names on Club Sea Ray.

I'm sorry we didn't get to meet anyone from CSR, but we did enjoy the trip. We arrived at Champlain's on Tuesday. The LIS was flat like glass so the trip was nice and easy. The current coming around Plum Island was intense, but it was an easy ride all the way to BI. We Ran from BI to MTK on Saturday, late afternoon. That ride to MTK rough, but fortunately no drama. We usually go MTK every summer, but this was our first time going via boat. The MTK-YC was nice, but I liked the first leg of the trip better.

We were stern to the floating doc at Champlain's. This made getting the kids and dog on and off the boat easy. The doc hands we're fantastic, everyone seems very cautious about getting boats fated and in and out. We really enjoyed Champlins marina and all the facilities. Even the movie theater came in handy Saturday morning during the rain storm.

All things considered. This was one of the best family vacations we have ever had!! Can't wait to go back in 2018....

Thanks to all who made it. It was great to see old friends, as well as new CSR folks joining.

We sure had lots of fun. The weather was pretty good as well. Only one rainy day. Heading back home on sunday worked out well for folks from NE. It was a bumpy ride for those who headed West bound.

We missed you by a couple of days. We were at Champlan's from Sunday through Wednesday. We are going back for Labor Day weekend.

Missed the flotilla this year. We were travelling overseas. Hopefully see you next year.

Sunset off the end of the CSR raft on our last night at BI. This was prior to the extra anchors being deployed at midnight :)

Looks like you have an entry for the calendar contest for 2018!

Stumbled onto this on my phone today... this was coming back to the CSR raft on the dinghy after lunch and mudslides at The Oar... I might not have been the most stable photographer at this time, but it reminded me of a nice time last summer.
